Always love a visit to Johan’s! The atmosphere is top notch. We love when we can snag a couch but any seat in the place works. The noise level is great for talking and the music is a nice background but doesn’t impede conversation. Even on busier days we’ve never had trouble finding a place to sit and enjoy some delicious food and drinks. The Stockholm sandwich is our favorite and I’ve never had a pastry/dessert there that I didn’t enjoy. All the drinks I’ve tried I’ve enjoyed but just their standard black house blend never misses.

Johan’s Joe Swedish Restaurant and was genuinely impressed by the coffee. Smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced—no bitterness, just a clean, comforting flavor that shows real care in how it’s brewed. It’s the kind of coffee you slow down for, whether you’re starting your day or taking a quiet break.

Paired with the warm, welcoming atmosphere, the coffee alone is worth the visit. You can tell quality matters here. A simple pleasure done exceptionally well—highly recommended for anyone who truly appreciates a great cup of coffee.

As a swede, I was SO disappointed!! And not only as a swede, but since when should you pay 7 dollars for an old and dry pastery?? We had 4 pastries and all OLD AND STONE HARD! they tastes like a fridge. No fresh things at all!!
Lady at the cashier was nice, but the man making the coffee was dirty and sloppy, the woman who came out with the food looked dead and didnt say anything, very weird decor aswell looked like a hospital. I was excited to go here at first but now it was more embarrasing. Such a shame!! I will go to sweden next time to get the real freshly made bakeries. – 26 year old swedish woman

Want to try authentic Swedish Food, you must try Johan’s Joe! The food was fresh, delicious and fast….they make everything from scratch. Also, they have a wide selection of fresh imported Swedish candies, cheeses, and other authentic products. Also, they meal prep authentic Swedish dishes for you to take home. This is a MUST try place…in downtown WPB….but easy to get to and absolutely easy to sit down and enjoy.

Husband has been to Sweden multiple times and was happy to discover this place.

Pretty good. Maybe 4.5 stars but rounded up for uniqueness in WPB.

Friendly folks, giant portion of smoked salmon, and my husband was very happy with his dessert. The dill dressing with the cold potato in my salad was delicious. I would say 5+ stars on the dessert, 4 stars on the croissant sandwich, 4.5 stars on the salad with smoked salmon.

I had amazing food /experience here that I could tell everyone about! I am obsessed with marzipan desserts which can be difficult to track down. I was stuck going into sant ambroeus for the marzipan princess cake which a single slice cost 19$ & not always a welcoming crowd in there. Then I found this place!! Walking in, it has a lovely atmosphere that feels luxurious but still welcoming. I asked a few questions and settled on a slice of princess cake, a Mazarin, a marzipan bite, and a golden latte that the barista sweetened to my liking. I am picky about dessert but let me tell you THESE WERE ALL FANTASTIC!!! I can’t tell you how amazing the treats were. It made my entire day so happy and I have had to go back home to the west coast of Florida but have been thinking about them everyday since. I always focus on trying new places when I come to Palm beach but this wonderful bakery will be my first stop everytime I am over here. AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING!

What a wonderful place to have breakfast. Johan’s was packed this morning, and I see why. The dining room is sleek with couch on table options to sit at, the breakfast food was fantastic, the menu prices were fair, and the service was fast. Johan’s is a great neighborhood spot!

We have been to Johan’s Joe Swedish coffee shop twice for a Swedish experience right in downtown West Palm Beach. It’s a nice place to hang out with a good cup of coffee & dessert.

Just… wow. Johan knows his stuff.

We got Lattes, Scambled Egg toast and Baltic Bagel in-house, and a piece of Princess Torte that we took to go. Everything was excellent. I loved the bagel and the family was so disappointed when the Princess Torte was gone.

I’ve wanted to try Princess Torte for years and it did not disappoint! It absolutely melted in our mouths.

They also had a cute selection of Swedish candies, jams, and sodas, as well as an environmentally friendly take-home meal, which we got to sample!

We are definitely will be saving this place for the next time we are in town!!

We’ve been loyal customers, visiting almost every weekend. Unfortunately, our last visit was a complete disaster.

Our order was wrong from the start — we ordered one frittata but received two, and our two oat milk lattes were completely missing. The bacon was burned to a crisp, which has never happened before.

When I went to ask about our lattes and requested them in to-go cups, what happened next was unacceptable. The staff member sneezed into the drink while carrying it, brought only one latte instead of two, and it wasn’t even in a to-go cup as requested. To top it off, the cup spilled all over the serving tray.

We told them how disappointed we were and left. As lovers of Swedish culture, it’s heartbreaking to say we won’t be returning to the only Swedish-inspired café in the area.
