We popped into Tortilla Mia right before closing just hoping to grab a quick margarita, and we were so grateful Javier still welcomed us in for a nightcap.

The atmosphere is fun and lively, with a modern Mexican feel. Service was fantastic, but the scratch margarita absolutely stole the show. It was perfectly balanced between sweet and sour and clearly made fresh.

We will definitely be back just for another one.

First Visit—Slow Service, semi friendly, had to ask for everything. Food is ok—Chips & Salsa-very good. Carne Asada Taco not worth $7. White Queso with Chorizo Not great—tasteless. Birria Flautas were the best thing I ordered as was the Chipotle Sauce that accompanied. The Green Salsa and the Habanero Salsa were delicious as well.
Atmosphere was ok. Very loud though. Parking is on street—many different streets—depending on how far you want to walk.

Stopped in for an afternoon snack and received fast, friendly service. We ordered three different tacos and two margarita flights. The margaritas were excellent—refreshing and well balanced with just the right amount of tequila. Chips and salsa were solid and hit the spot.

The carne asada tacos were the standout, grilled perfectly and very tender. The carnitas were flavorful, though a bit heavy on the rice for our taste. The al pastor was good, with fresh pineapple adding a nice contrast. Overall, a great stop with good food and drinks, and we’d definitely come back.

There is a difference between fast food Mexican and authentic cuisine, and Tortilla mia sits firmly in the authentic section. I grew up in San Diego, so I have high standards for what a fish taco should taste like. It needs to be light, the batter needs to crunch, and the white sauce needs to be tangy, not just mayo.

I ordered a trio of fish tacos here and took my first bite and was so happy they nailed it! The fish was flaky and fresh, the cabbage slaw made it even better. I went in for a quick solo lunch and ended up staying for an hour just enjoying my food and the environment. It’s a great little escape from the work day.

Tortilla Mia was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The party coordinator was easy to work with and made planning simple. On the day of the event, the staff was friendly, attentive, and accommodating, ensuring everything ran smoothly. The food was delicious, the drinks were perfect, and our guests couldn’t stop raving. The husband-and-wife owners personally introduced themselves and made sure we felt supported throughout. I also love visiting Tortilla Mia regularly with friends and family. They even work with party budgets. Highly recommend for events or casual dining!

My coworkers and i do happy hour here almost every Friday now and one of our favourite drink from here is the classic lime margarita. It’s not too sweet, it has a good kick, and actually tastes fresh instead of syrupy. We usually pair it with a few taco plates to share, and it’s become our go to way to wind down after a long week.
Highly recommend if you’re looking for a happyhour spot

Popped in for a margarita and some chips and salsa while waiting for friends at the farmers market. The chips and salsa were fresh and delicious, and the margaritas hit the spot! We grabbed seats at the outdoor bar that faces inside — great setup. The bartender was friendly and made us feel welcome. Perfect little break in the day!

Good food. Their steak nachos are great the quesabirria was a little soggy by the end of the meal. Cadillac margarita tasted like straight tequila and needed some mix to tone it down to the drinkable level.

Unfortunately this place did not do it for us.
We came here on a saturday night and it started off strong with wonderful decor and they actually fit us in very quickly for a busy night.
Once we sat down I asked if the margarita flavors were made with fresh fruits or with syrup. The server answered syrup and then said “wait let me ask”, and came back and said actually theyre all fresh in house. I ordered a watermelon margarita, my partner ordered a flight (tamarind, jamaica, mango, strawberry), our friends also got a flight and the jamaica margarita. We also ordered chips and guac and chips and salsa. The chips and guac and salsa were actually really good, very crispy and perfectly salted.
The atmosphere was very nice with live music.
When the drinks arrived the flight was actually very good but we couldnt figure out which was which in the flight because there were 3 yellow ones and one red one which we assumed was the strawberry (and tasted like strawberry). But the jamaica that our friends also ordered was also red so we figured one of the flight must have been switched out. So we asked the waiter which flavors were which and she asked to see the menu and started trying to name them. She ended up calling over someone else who named off all the flavors and pointed to the red one and said watermelon. We asked are you sure? It doesnt taste like the watermelon and there was supposed to be a strawberry in the flight and jamaica… and he said yes it is. Regardless, the flight was actually really good and the tamarind did taste like a real mix.
As far as the watermelon that I ordered – it tasted suuuper sweet, like it was almost definitely syrup. We ended up asking to switch for the strawberry since according to the waiter we didnt get one. The strawberry one was even worse, it tasted like more syrup and it tasted like a lot of tequila. The whole table tried it and hated it. We didnt end up sending it back again since we were finished with our meal.
I didnt get to try the jamaica since it didnt seem to be in our flight and the one ordered was our friends.
As far as the mains – we got the pork chiliverde, shrimp taco, and mahi mahi taco. I felt like across the board they were bland – both in flavor, and presentation.
Overall I felt there are a lot of improvements that could be made but if you are looking for a flight and some chips in a vibe-y spot maybe it will be just right.
