We got sat right away for lunch on a Sunday at 1:00. The combo appetizer was scrumptious. It had spring spring rolls, shrimp that were lightly breaded and cheese wontons all of it was very scrumptious. I had a honey black pepper chicken which was very decadent and my husband had an orange sesame chicken which he really enjoyed. It was quite. I appreciate that there was music but it was playing in the background. We will definitely return again.

Dined at Mandarin Spice during Christmas holidays. I first had dinner there on Christmas Eve, and had such a good experience that I came back two days later.
Despite the place being super busy, the staff was super friendly and we got our food quickly.
The food itself was exceptional – got fish/seafood + chow mein first time, sushi on the second. The seafood in particular was top notch.
Finally, the restaurant decor/atmosphere is really cool, and tailors well to both casual and more formal events.
I would definitely recommend Mandarin Spice to anyone visiting Cedar Rapids! If this place was in Charlotte, I’d be going there almost every week.

Cocktails and apps were fantastic. The shrimp rack and steamed dumplings were great. Entrees were good but not as much as the apps. I had orange chicken. Which was just sweet with much orange flavor. Chicken was good. Other person had pad thai which needed a little sweetness and a touch more flavor. Enjoyed the Mongolian beef. Waitress was friendly and helpful. Will Def go back and try different entrees.

Always a great place to go. It’s slowly starting to decline in my opinion. Food portions are getting much smaller while prices are increasing. Quality/ flavor overall is still great, and the service is still very attentive. There was a staffing issue in the kitchen and sushi area but it didn’t seem to affect our food or timeliness.

Sara was a phenomenal waitress. She was on top of everything. Such a delightful person. The food was fantastic and we didn’t have to wait long. I had the General’s Chicken. The chicken was nice and crunchy and had a good amount of heat. Perfect place for a night out in Cedar Rapids. Thank you.

Friendly service, love the atmosphere and the menu has great variety. The rack of shrimp appetizer is a great deal for the price & so tasty!
The rice in 2 out of 3 rolls left a little to be desired in texture (pieces wouldn’t keep shape & some fell apart), but the taste is so good that I can forgive it this one time issue.
Try the clear soup! It’s super flavorful!

The food and service were absolutely amazing. The serving sizes do need to be a lot bigger, especially for their price point. It is way less food for their prices. I’ve had better experiences with portions.
If you don’t mind smaller portions, this is the place. The food tastes phenomenal and their California rolls are fabulous.
