At our Sebring, FL location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

My daughter and I were short on time and I didn’t want to eat anything too bad for myself so I figured I’d grab a piece of fish from Captain D’s in Sebring, a place I hadn’t visited in years.
When I placed my order, I asked for ketchup. They no longer had a self-serve pump and were offering individual packets instead. I casually asked if they had bulk ketchup in the back, and the manager, Kelsey (apologies if I misspelled her name), politely offered to open the packets for me to make it easier. She was sincere and professional, explaining that she aims to keep customers happy because that’s what keeps the business running.
I declined her offer to open the packets, but I appreciated the level of customer service she demonstrated. The interaction was both courteous and memorable.
Overall, the fish was well-cooked, satisfying, and reasonably priced. For anyone looking for a quick, affordable seafood option in Sebring, Captain D’s is worth considering.

The food was really good. I wish the clam strips had been available as that was why we chose to eat at this restaurant specifically. Next time we will call prior to driving 30 miles. Wait times is long enough to think maybe you’ve been forgotten but the food is so hot and fresh.

The food is good, but don’t order the lobster roll here. It’s nothing like the picture. Photo shows bite sized pieces of lobster, and lettuce. The roll contained a minced salad in a mayo type of sauce, not sure what all was in it and unfortunately this Captain D’s had no lettuce, but neglected to inform us. They did take the lobster roll back in exchange for another choice.

The store was busy, took 45 minutes to get our food. We both ordered the fish and chickens with baked potatoes. The fish was ok the chicken was tough and terrible. The baked potato was very good. We both got diarrhea a few hours after we ate there. Stomach issues for two days before it settled down.

The food is always good. The service was good. The staff were friendly to everyone. I watched the staff bring the orders to each and every person. The staff, atmosphere, and the food was like eating at a fancy restraunt; not at all like a fast food restaurant.

My first time having Captains Do’s and it’s really nothing special. I’m hear to talk about the staff. I don’t remember her name but the girl working the window was so nice. They mistakenly over charged me and I didn’t even notice in the moment but, she immediately corrected it. When I was ordering and I told her I had never been there prior, she told me all the popular items. When my order came she made sure I had all the sauces I needed. We had a bit of small talk and I could tell that she was a genuinely nice person. I really wish I remembered her name. She’s amazing!!

I have been wanting to try this place since moving here, but have been skeptical, so finally charted today. Just got the special, they have going on right now.
They were pretty quick. Take my order helping one another out. The weight seemed to take pretty long. But the lady in front of me ordered a lot of food, so I also put that into consideration.
Once I got up to the window, my food was there. It was hot, very fresh. And not bad for 7 dollars. I got the fish and shrimp special. It was delicious. Service was great, food is great.
My only issue is the building needs some paint and love looks bit run down.

Arrived at about 4:10 PM. Placed our order. Drove up and paid. Had to wait with three other cars for our orders. Took about 12 minutes. We then left the parking lot and drove over to another parking lot and started to eat our meals. The french fries were lukewarm in both meals. My wife’s chicken meal, see the attached picture, looked like the chicken strips had been reheated. They were dried out and tough. Went back to Captain D’s parking lot and took the order inside to get it changed out. Meanwhile my order of fish and shrimp was in the car getting cold. Took 12 minutes for them to replace my wife’s chicken strip meal. I returned to the car and ate part of my meal and it was not good at all, the shrimp were little tiny pieces of shrimp probably correctly called popcorn shrimp. I had started eating my meal when I had to take my wife’s meal back and at that time my french fries were lukewarm. Both my wife and I figured that after having to wait in the drive-through line for 12 minutes after paying that our dinner order would probably be fresh. Big mistake. My wife tried to eat her second chicken strip meal. At least the french fries were hot but the new chicken strips were not much better than the first time around. My wife ate one strip and one hush puppie and said no I’m not eating any more of this and we ended up leaving the parking lot and throwing both meals out. We are sorry we tried this place to eat. We have eaten here in the past and it’s always been good.
