The place has a cool atmosphere, and their cocktail menu is actually impressive—tons of creative options that made it fun to try a few different drinks. On paper, it looks like a great night out.
But here’s the part I can’t wrap my head around: I somehow spent around $60 on cocktails and didn’t even catch a buzz. Not even a little. At that point I started wondering if the alcohol was just listed on the menu for emotional support.
The live music also didn’t really add much to the experience, so between that and the drinks that seemed more decorative than effective, the night just didn’t live up to the bill.
That said, I’ll give five stars to the food—purely based on appearances. We didn’t order any, but the plates coming out of the kitchen looked impressive… kind of like the cocktail menu did.
Great atmosphere and lots of choices, but if the drinks actually contained the amount of alcohol the prices suggest, the experience might have been a lot better.
Beautiful menu, great vibe… but $60 later I left feeling like I’d just attended a very expensive hydration seminar.
LOVED the Rock n Roll music that was being played as well! Food was great(last, but not least).
* Water comes from moldy soda machine spout
* Only gave us a single water pitcher for family of 15 people bowling across 3 lanes
* Water was empty in first 5 minutes. Waitress never came back to refill water during entire 1 hour bowling session.
99% of other establishments (including bowling alleys) allow people to bring in their own water! My best guess is alcohol drinkers ruined this for people looking to simply bring their own water in. They probably hide liquor in water bottles and thus Shakopee Bowl makes a knee jerk decision which negatively impacts non-alcohol drinking customers.
I won’t come back in until this policy is reverted or fixed.
