My husband chose this place for the puffy tacos and the chips and salsa. Unfortunately none of the food was up to our expectations, although still edible. The chips and salsa was probably the best thing we had. The puffy tacos weren’t even crispy, the shredded beef was not flavorful and wet. I had the enchiladas and it honestly reminded me of the freezer meal ones they sell in the store. The side of rice and beans that I ended up ordering extra with the enchilada special for the day, was also lacking in flavor & dry. I was irritated I had paid $4 each for each side due to quality issues.
I feel like this place has the opportunity to do better but it just seemed like the cook didn’t care and it showed in the food. Our service however was great. Hope they can turn it around for the best.

I had my daughter’s sweet 16th birthday party that I had catered from here they were late coming to bring the food, no utensils had to go to the dollar store to get serving items that should have come with this catering then when we got into the meat a 1/2 sheet pan of burger was raw. I then called spoke with Mandi she apologized and offered a 50.00 credit she wouldnt refund the money to my original payment that was her only suggestion so i took it. I had called several times to redeem my credit with no call back (they say today they had my wrong number) since they dont keep good records of refunds noone at the desk knew about this issue i was having any time I called. Then went today in person to redeem said refund now she is stating she doesn’t recall this incident she only keeps a file for 1 year which wasn’t told to me. I drove all the way there for the person at the desk to tell me Mandi doesnt recall this issue she would only offer me a 25.00 refund to which i said no i want what is owed to me that Mandi told me i would get. She then got on the phone with Mandi and asked to speak with me. She then asked why I hadnt come back sooner explained the above. She treated me terribly and acted as if she had no idea what I was talking about and I have messages from a friend that states mandi knew exactly what I was talking about and still refused my refund. Terrible business owner with terrible customer service along with no pride or integrity in what they serve this community. I will never eat at any of there business or have one good thing to say about them. Also it shouldn’t matter length of time for a credit and if there is it needs to be stated up front which it wasn’t. Horrible communicate.

I came here to try the birria tacos especially. I ordered the weekly special which had 3 birria tacos and beans & rice.
The birria tacos were excellent – nice crispy tacos, the beef was tasty and there was both melted mozzarella and queso fresco both which was above average. The consommé was very good as well with plenty of onions & cilantro. The rice and beans were average but the portions were large. My companion has a lot of food restrictions but was able to enjoy the fries along with a white queso.
I will be back to try the flaco tacos or more of the birria (they also serve the ramen version which I have yet to try myself but seems to be a popular variation$.

The tamales are very small and came out luke warm, floating in a thin layer of water in the box. I had to return the enchilada due to a hole being burnt in the side of the box. The only thing that was semi ok were the deep fried Oreos

We’ve been here a few times. We love the authentic food here. I ordered the 3 Tostada dinner with Beans and Rice. Let me tell you our dinner was delicious! You get a good portion for what you order. We ended up taking ours to go.

Very good, our office has ordered for big lunches. The Taste of Bay city is a great, reasonable priced place to eat. Daily specials. $2.00 enchiladas on Monday, $2.00 Tostada’s on Tuesday, $1.00 taco’s on Wednesday-Soft or Hard shell. This is worth the trip. Free chips and salsa when you dine in. Yummy

First impressions of the restaurant are not good: the parking lot is crumbling asphalt or dirt and the interior is old and in need of serious attention. However, the staff and waitress were friendly. The chips were cold but the requested hot salsa was good (the highlight of the meal). Food was plentiful and cheap; however, it was bland. My cheese/onion enchilada was covered in raw onion chunks which turned into a nice sized pile after eating. The portions were good but there just wasn’t any flavor or zing to anything. Very disappointing.

My boyfriend and I come to this restaurant at least once a week..we always order same thing. I can’t have rice so they give me double beans. New waiter wrote it wrong we noticed and he fixed it.. food came out wrong he tried saying we said double rice sent it back… came out again double rice…told him if I eat the rice I’ll end up in the hospital so ud think my next plate would be right but nope, then cook finally came out and asked what I wanted. Then it still came out wrong but just didn’t eat that part. The poor family behind us waited at least 30 minutes for food and we were there for over an hour waited like 30 minutes for bill…then he argued over the change because he couldn’t do simple math when he typed it in wrong. He was rude to customers on the phone. We are not sure if we will go back! Please make sure new hires know what there doing before putting them by themselves!!
