This casual, freestanding Dominican eatery is popular for generous portions of homestyle dishes.

This place is absolutely worth the drive — we live almost 40 minutes away, and we still make the trip just for their food! Every dish we’ve tried tastes homemade, full of authentic Dominican flavor and served in generous portions.
The staff is always welcoming and happy, and the service feels genuine — you can tell they take pride in what they do. The food is consistently fresh and flavorful, from the pernil and rice to the beans and salad. Everything tastes like it’s cooked with care.
If you’re looking for delicious Dominican comfort food and friendly service in a casual, family-style atmosphere, this spot is 100% worth visiting. Highly recommend!

May parents don’t really know much , so they ordered what they thought would be a starter for the whole family. They asked for a 10-15 person orders of meats. They suggested their meat platter for 70 plus dollars.
My point of view on the following item:
Don’t order from here. Highway robbery for 75 bucks I felt we got robbed. This feeds 4-6 people. They ripped us off big time! Customer service was worse. People this does not feed 15 people as per their manager.
Customer service:
My sister in law called at least to get an explanation. The cashier had no idea and transferred to “The mananger “ said we eat a lot and that we should order somewhere else! Horrible customer service, and def wouldn’t do business here. There are ways to handle misunderstandings. My family and I will not be giving business to this place.

The worst ever, and the reason why I would give them 0 stars if I could is because I spoke to a male there, one of the female workers put me on to talk to him. I wanted to order on DoorDash since this was my one of many orders from them over a while, I simply called to ask if they can add about a slice or 2 of avocados to my food instead of the salad, they said no which I completely understand, I proceed to ask if they can charge me for something else since it is not on DoorDash menu for me to pay for it, the young lady told me $3 for a whole avocado which was fine with me, then a male came on the phone and said he’s switching the price to $8, I asked why? He said because it’s on DoorDash lol. And that if I came in the store that I can get it for $3. The money isn’t the issue, it’s the way he spoke to me disrespectfully such a shame. I have been purchasing from these people a while now. He then proceed to insult me to take a taxi and go collect me food and my avocado for $3, mind you , they young lady was the one who said the price not me. He was so rude, distasteful, disrespectful and the worst person in food business I spoke to. I will never purchase again just because of his nasty behavior, that is now how you treat customers, I was nice to him and didn’t deserve his insults. Never again!!!

I’ve known about this restaurant for some years now, I’ve heard good things about it and I’ve been real busy to take time to go but today was the day and it was great! The food, the service and the place as a whole was really nice. Family portion for sure! The drinks are yummy and the food very fresh. First time I see a restaurant have a deli/restaurant view without it looking very out of place. They did a good job. I recommend to take some time and eat here.

If you’re looking for amazing service and even better food, The Dominican Restaurant is the place to be. As someone who called the DR home for a decade, finding a spot that captures that genuine island feeling is rare—but this place nails it. It’s become the go-to ‘home away from home’ for me and all my friends.
Es como estar de vuelta en la isla, ¡una maravilla!

I’m writing this review because this restaurant has significantly improved its customer service, though the food’s flavor could still use some work. About eight years ago, I was introduced to this place, which quickly became my go-to spot on Long Island for Dominican food. Back then, the taste was exceptional, the portion sizes were generous enough to feed a family for days, and the homemade drinks were delightful. However, over the years, I’ve noticed the food has become overly salty at times, with some dishes lacking flavor entirely. In the past, I occasionally experienced poor service and felt judged for my darker skin tone, depending on who served me, but thankfully, the service has improved in recent times. I highly recommend the beef stew and macaroni salad—both are absolutely delicious. If you’re looking for great value, this place delivers portions that exceed expectations in the best way! Overall, I would recommend giving it a try.

Customer service is so bizarre. I ordered two meals one with rice beans as a side and the other with tostones on the side. I never got the tostones because they said I had more than enough rice and beans. They felt that they gave extra rice and beans so there will be no need for those tostones. Basically deciding my dinner for me. There’s so many other Spanish restaurants That taste way better than this. I will never return to this weird place.

Ordered take out and I was absolutely impressed by the flavor and quality. It reminded me of my childhood food! Portions are huge. Pollo guisado, Tostones and flan – yum!

The food is great although when you order online and there isn’t something in stock, they just give you whatever and I don’t think that’s right they should call you instead of just putting in what’s available because my mom ordered a soup that was nine dollars and they didn’t have it so they gave her a chicken noodle soup instead, but they didn’t even call to tell her and they charged nine dollars for a small little soup

Reviews for “The Dominican Restaurant” are mixed, with one restaurant on Easter Island receiving overwhelmingly positive feedback for its excellent food and ambiance, while another in Raleigh, NC, had a negative review due to a hygiene issue and a poor experience with a take-out order. The Easter Island location is praised for dishes like garlic lobster and shrimp risotto, while the Raleigh location’s negative review mentioned finding an artificial nail in a take-out bowl, according to a user’s experience on
