For appetizers, we got the hummus, tzatziki, and falafel—everything was delicious. They also give you a side of “mommy’s sauce,” and omg… it was soooo good mixed with the hummus. It’s a secret family recipe made by the owner herself, which makes it even better!
For the entrée, we ordered the mixed grill platter. My favorite meats were the gyro slices and the beef cubes. The beef cubes were perfectly seasoned—seriously next level. The rice underneath all the meat was also excellent and packed with flavor.
Will definitely be back!!
Namli Restaurant in New Jersey is a great spot if you’re craving authentic Mediterranean and Turkish food. The dishes are fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared, with generous portions that make the meal very satisfying.
The grilled meats, kebabs, and appetizers really stand out — everything tastes homemade and well seasoned. The bread and dips are also excellent and set the tone for the meal right from the start.
The atmosphere is clean, comfortable, and welcoming, and the staff are friendly and attentive, making the whole dining experience enjoyable.
Overall, Namli is a fantastic choice for Mediterranean cuisine in NJ. Highly recommended if you enjoy flavorful food and great hospitality.
The standout for me was the kebabs. Juicy, tender, and seasoned to perfection, they’re easily some of the best I’ve had anywhere. Each bite showcases the kind of craftsmanship that only comes from generations of culinary passion.
The warm, welcoming atmosphere and genuinely friendly service make the experience even better. If you’re looking for a place that feels like home while serving exceptional Mediterranean food, this gem is a must-visit.
I genuinely can’t wait to go back.
If you’re a true food lover or a gourmet who appreciates quality, freshness, and authentic taste, you must try this place. It’s an unforgettable experience from start to finish.
Once there, although I knew about their free private parking, I chose to park free in a designated public parking.
Fixed lunch Menu was $17.95 + tax + gratuity
The lunch menu was Salad OR Soup OR a starter … so I chose a (starter) Spicy Eggplant something …
The Pita bread (warm) basket comes complimentary (2 small pita inside). It was cold appetizer but yummy with the bread and I was almost full !
The start I picked was Lamb Adana with 50%-50% two types of rice. White and (yellow) broken. Adana Kebab was from heaven. Start attraction and super tasty … Moist and yet charred, juicy, spices quite punctuating that delicate “Turkish” signature (as I’m from Asia, I have a HUGE registry of spices in my brain thru my sensory tongue). It was also very filling.
There was a long slim, light green roasted green pepper and a half tomato (charred as well) I liked.
After a little bit of nibbling, I was full and asked “Maya” who suggested me all this, for the to-go boxes.
Please see my pictures of the place, as on Wednesday, it was relatively thick with customers and patrons and their private parking was almost full (which I spotted afterwards)
I had interesting “ancestry” related discussion with Maya and she was very pleased to walk me thru it!
Overall I would go there on an Augenblik with my tongue who is my Master of the taste repository which resides in my right cortex!
It’s such a pleasure to visit the Namli which is a nice, home-owned turkish restaurant where all the food was made of love .
The Grilled mix
Perfect lamb and chicken with perfect taste and tenderness. You could feel the refreshness of the meat from each of your bite. The grill flavour really makes me feel that I’m eating on a little street in Istanbul.
The Kunefe
This is such a lovely dessert that it look normally initially, but you would be surprisingly attracted by its rich flavour. The cheese and the sweetness melt together in your mouse, such a fanatasic journey.
As I said in the very begining, the environement, the food, the decor and the service is perfect.
It’s for sure my No.1 Turkish☪ restaurant in the NJ.
Looking forward to come again!
