My husband used to come here a lot during his college years. He was really excited about eating here again and wasn’t disappointed. The main reason I didn’t give a perfect score is because their restrooms could use some help; they don’t have a baby changing diaper station and one of the toilet holders is broken (as shown in the picture). They do offer high chairs though!

A Tale of Two Sandwiches at Cook Out
The moment you step into Cook Out on Emmet Street, you’re greeted by an atmosphere that’s both welcoming and tropical – and by tropical, I mean the indoor temperature rivals a summer day in the Sahara. The heat was so intense, we found ourselves speed-eating like contestants in a competitive eating championship.
The Speed of Service
The service here moves at lightning speed. In fact, between filling our drinks and turning around, our food had materialized as if by fast-food sorcery. This impressive turnaround time did raise some eyebrows about the “freshly made” claims, but hey, when you’re hungry, speed counts.
The Main Event
The star of our meal was the peculiar tale of two chicken sandwiches – the “Cheddar Style” and “Original Style” char-grilled varieties. While both carried that satisfying char-grilled flavor, they seemed to come from different chicken families altogether. My Cheddar Style sandwich was the clear winner in the size department, making my wife’s Original Style look like its younger, much smaller sibling.
The Supporting Cast
The fries deserve their own standing ovation. These genuine potato-based beauties were a pleasant surprise, clearly not from the frozen bag variety that many fast-food joints rely on. While they could have used a bit more time in the fryer for that perfect crunch, they were still thoroughly enjoyable.
Value Proposition
If there’s one thing Cook Out gets absolutely right, it’s the pricing. The value here is remarkable, offering a full meal at prices that make your wallet smile. Combined with their lightning-fast service, it’s an ideal spot for anyone looking for a quick, budget-friendly meal – just maybe bring a personal fan next time.

Food was reasonably priced, and delicious. Fries could have been crispier but had a uniquely good flavor. Hush puppies were crispy and fluffy and delicious. Cole slaw was simple and refreshing. Presentation was quite basic, no frills. Service was fast. Like really fast. BBQ was not too wet or too dry. BBQ is finely shredded. Make sure you ask for some BBQ sauce on the side. The sauce is great and the BBQ sandwich/plate is fine on it’s own but is best with the BBQ sauce added.

This is absolutely disgusting!
My mom ordered this milkshake, and I’m not racist but there was nothing but black woman in there who would be rude to us when we just wanted a bite to eat and something good to drink… the woman who was at the register was rude to us but treated the same colored women who was next in line like a good person and us like we were bad… they gave my mom a milkshake and she has health issues as it is, and they gave her a rotten milk coke shake… these people were not nice at all, and I don’t care what your color skin is…. But it doesn’t take anything to just be nice…

Food and service always warm. It also feels good to see security at midnight, even when they’re not so busy. The girl security rock, always nice

Ordered 2 trays in the drive thru, payed and realized $38.84 was excessive. Looked at my receipt and the cashier had rang each item up individually. Went inside to get error corrected. I told the manager what happened, he spoke to the employee and basically acted like I was the problem. He walked away for about 12 minutes came back and handed me a bag of cold food. The food he took from me when I came in and told him the issue, handed me some $ back, no receipt, no apology, nothing!!!!

Typically this location is rather quick and friendly; however, my partner and I attempted to visit this location tonight roughly 45 minutes before the posted closing hour and there was a trash bin blocking the drive thru. We thought this was weird so we drove around to see if they were still open. We noticed that there were still employees inside and it seemed as though they were still open. We drove back around and the trash can was moved and there were two other cars in the drive thru, so we got in line and two other cars came up behind us. An employee comes out of the building exit nearest the drive thru and directs the cars closest to the call box to pull forward and then puts the trash can back in the drive thru in front of our vehicle and walks away. Just wild to me that they were denying business that much in advance of closing. What an unfortunate experience when looking forward to a late night treat from a place we used to be able to rely on.

Prices have gone up like crazy every where but I wasn’t expecting to pay $52 on food just for 2 people. When I got my food I ordered cheese fries and got plain fried just a handful for idk how much and I apparently ordered a large tea which I never did. They need a screen or something at drive-thru so customers can verify that they are getting the order right. I know they are always busy and they don’t read the order back to you to make sure everything is correct.
