Rays has always been good food to me, but I came back after not patronizing them for at least a good 3 years. I was disappointed because I called in aheadrequesting that my food is fried hard and then at mild sauce. everything was soggy, which, it was important to me to be cooked appropriately.

I’m from Miami and used to Snappers Fish and Chicken. I’m in search of something similar since I’m in the area.
I’m so glad I found Ray’s! Everything is fresh, the market is clean and fresh, and the service is perfect.
I was lucky enough to meet the man himself, Ray. Turns out he grew up in Miami and knew all about Snappers
I got a whiting and jumbo shrimp combo. Had the whiting fried hard, and it was perfectly executed! Fish was flaky, fresh, and not dried out. The jumbo shrimp were, in fact, jumbo shrimp. The potato salad, I knew it was good when I saw the small container, but I know next time to get extra because it was fire .
Definitely a 10 outta 10, and now when I’m craving my cheat day,I know where I’m going!

We’ve been coming here for about three or four years now. We have had the catfish,cod,garlic crab, chicken, potatoes salad, and coleslaw. The catfish is not gamy like other places, it’s fresh and soft when you bit into it. The fish is fried crispy and so delicous. The cod falls apart when you bite into it so good. The crab meat is just right and it’s not dry or chewy like other places ive had crab boil. The potatoe salad is made with fresh vegetables and you can taste it. It’s not too dry or too creamy. The coleslaw is just perfect, tangy not too sweet. Ray is such a great guy, he makes you feel welcome and answers all your questions! The amount they give you is perfect, not too little either! The bread is also good, they give u a bread with each order and your choice of salad,potatoe or beans. I highly recommend getting the 3/3 chicken for 2 people it’s ALOT of food!! They also have a delicous lemonade he makes by hand!

Really good and decently priced soul food! The fish was super fresh, the chicken spiced and fried deliciously, and the staff were so kind and generous with the sides and sauces. Would definitely go back out of our way to eat this again!

We love Ray’s. You really cannot go wrong with your order. From shrimp, to fish, fried oysters and crabs (pictured below), you’ll notice the full flavor and freshness of the seafood. We got the fried oysters for the first time and they were so crunchy, as were the french fries. The breading on the oysters were some of the best I’ve had. And a whole crab with fresh garlic and melted butter? Forget about it…there are no words! I always want to lick the bowl clean. It is THAT good. If you are in Stockton, go to Ray’s. It is such a treat!

Loved the food, the vibes, everything! My kids tore up their Mac n cheese and fries. I didnt even get a single fry. But LOVED the fish (I had red snapper) perfectly crispy yet juicy inside. Last but not least the Greens! Immaculate! Best greens I’ve had in a long time! If I lived out here this would be a regular spot for me! Great food with friendly staff can’t beat that! I hope you guys end up coming out to Portland!

Very clean, great selection of meats and proteins. The way this place works is you pick out your meat be it chicken, shrimp, lobster, cod, there are many other fish selections and you can see them in the display case! They take your choice out of the display case it is all fresh, they batter, and deep fry your selections and you are served! It is great that they also include 2 types of sauces one of them has a bit of a kick, and also ketchup. We had a side of rice and a blueberry drink as well. Everything tasted great, it was crunchy on the outside and hot on the inside, very flavorful! I ordered the cod combo and it was just the right amount of food for me. My husband ordered the cod and shrimp combo, it was to impress! Cannot wait to return and try a new type of fish that I have never tried!

The tilapia needed salt. Great amount for the price I paid. The fries were good. I dont eat coleslaw so I didnt try it. The collards were horrible. Im from the south and i dont know how they messed them up. Definitely will NEVER get those again. Banana pudding was decent but it wouldn’t send me running back to buy more.

Took my daughter to Ray’s for lunch after her basketball tournament in Stockton last weekend!! And it was !! Food was excellent and the staff was very polite and courteous!! My daughter had the “Had to have it” with snow crab legs & I had the “What do we have here” with Dungeness crab! It was seasoned and cooked to perfection in garlic butter!! Will definitely be back to feast on some of that goodness again real soon!! Thank u fellas at Ray’s for the excellent food and hospitality!!
