I’ve been on a quest to find some good smoked beef ribs. Heard about Eric’s family barbecue and had to check it out.
It’s a no fuss establishment serving good barbecue. One downside to serving meat is the cost and beef ribs were $47 a pound (bone included).
I purchased one rib (about half a pound) and it was delicious and worth the hunt.
They have huge smokers outside behind the restaurant.

Voted 2nd best in the nation and we believe it! Went there last night for Valentines dinner and it was the best barbecue we have had in our entire lives! The owner was so friendly and welcoming and so were all the staff. Dog friendly restaurant and authentic food, authentic warm and friendly place to eat. We got 1/2 pound of brisket, pulled pork and Ribs. We will be going back soon!

So here’s the deal; we ended up at Eric’s Family Barbeque because a friend told us they actually have beef ribs, which are basically extinct these days. And let me tell you… they did not disappoint! The ribs were massive, the brisket was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the seasoning on the meat was chef’s kiss. You can tell they know what they’re doing back there.
We also grabbed the mac & cheese (made with actual real cheese, none of that fake neon stuff) and onion rings, both were solid choices. The mac was creamy, the onion rings had that perfect crunch. Honestly, the food across the board was delicious.
Now, here’s the thing… it’s definitely on the pricey side. Like, “special occasion BBQ” prices (it was over $100 for 2 of us). And it’s a bit of a trek for us to get there. But honestly? Totally worth the one-time trip just to finally sink my teeth into some legit beef ribs again.
So yeah, Eric’s isn’t gonna be our weekly hangout, but if you’re craving BBQ that actually lives up to the hype (and want to feel like a caveman gnawing on a dinosaur bone), this is the spot.

Eric’s Barbecue serves some of the best BBQ around. The brisket is excellent, the green chili has great flavor, and the mac and cheese and fries are always on point. You can tell the ingredients are fresh and much of it is scratch made. I really appreciate supporting a small, locally owned business that takes pride in its food, and the quality absolutely matches the price.
Unfortunately, the customer service has been consistently disappointing. I’ve visited five times, and each experience has involved young staff who seem uninterested in customers or repeat business. The most recent visit was the worst, I was almost charged for more than I ordered, and when I politely pointed it out, I was met with attitude instead of accountability. No customer should feel uncomfortable or talked down to for asking questions.
If you have the ingredients to accommodate a request, even if it’s not clearly listed on the menu, that’s an opportunity to take care of the customer, not create friction. Loyal customers are what sustain small businesses.
As a manager myself, I would absolutely want to know how my team is treating guests. The food is amazing and keeps me coming back, but the service does not currently match the cost or quality of the product. I genuinely hope management addresses this, because this place has the potential to be exceptional across the board.

Legit BBQ – can smell the smokers before you pull up and the way the smells hit you know it is going to be amazing. The portions are generous especially the sides. The brisket and elote – 10/10 all of it!

Best BBQ I have ever had, hands down. The brisket sandwich was amazing. The mac n, cheese was beyond delicious. I am SO full, I wish I had room for dessert.

This spot was suggested by a family friend of ours. We really didn’t know what to expect. Upon showing up we were met with a good size menu of choices. While our family was trying to decide, and couple of regulars ended up behind us. Trying to be polite we offered for them to go ahead and to our surprise they welcomed our new customer overwhelmed vibes and reassured us we were in good hands. That customer was right bc after that exchange, we were welcomed warmly on being supported on how to order. It made the whole process smoother. The food was incredibly tender and flavorful. The bbq sauce choices were great additions and the free arcade made for a good past time for those who finished early. My family and I truly enjoyed our experience and will be coming back again! Thank’s guys for the wonderful hospitality as we are also new to the West Valley!

Eric’s BBQ has the most delicious bbq I’ve had in Arizona and other states. Fast and efficient service and plenty of seats. Eat in or take home some of their fabulous food. You won’t regret it

The best brisket I’ve ever had!!! It was super moist and tender. I really enjoyed it. Mac and cheese was good also but the brisket definitely stole the show. It’s a little on the pricey side ($30 for what you see on the picture). The service was great. The workers were super friendly and patient as it was my first time and I took a little long to make my choice. Definitely recommend it and will make it a spot that I’ll visit consistently .
