We ordered catering from Black eyed pea and I must say it was delicious! The street tacos were seasoned perfectly. I don’t know about the corn stuff that came with it, nobody really ate it. The rice was delicious as well. We also ordered chicken tenders which were so tender and buttery that they were gone first. They came with seasoned mashed potatoes and salad. The manager I worked with was very helpful. They also provided for the catering order all the utensils and set up trays.

Our waitress was amazing. Very attentive and not overly so. The chicken fried steak was good. Tender and flavorful while still being crispy on the outside. The mashed potatoes were real. There were even some chunks in them. The gravy was good and had some good black pepper in it. The salad was okay. Probably would not get it again. My daughter said the macaroni and cheese was decent.

I’ve eaten at this Black Eyed Pea a few times now, takeout and dine in, and every time my meal leaves something to be desired. I’m not a picky eater in the slightest, for what it’s worth. Hand to god. I would recommend going pretty much anywhere else, there are lots of tasty places at this price point that will give you a meal that’s a billion times better.
They do have some tasty appetizers and dishes but nothing that really stands out. Everything else, ranges from subpar to inedible. The peach cobbler tasted horrible, like peach flavored baby oil soaked into prison bread. Meatloaf is a good $25 and it’s not bad, but it’s school lunch quality and does not reflect it’s price point at all. All that being said, the staff are kind and the atmosphere is pleasant.
Please, I beg you, ask your elderly companion who wants to dine here to go elsewhere. Please!!

Went here for lunch while waiting for my car at the dealership close by. Had the 9oz house cab and the chicken fried steak. Really good food. The rolls were huge, hot and delicious. Mashed potatoes with cream gravy were perfect and the coleslaw was good. Chicken fried steak was really good and crispy. I’d definitely go back because the service was also amazing! Good food and service are rare these days!

Chicken fried steak Monday. This is my favorite day. Only 8.99 for a really good chicken fried steak. Are here late so bar was not crowded. Bar is good place to watch games and get drinks as well. Watched Rockies lose to Cubs tonight by 1 run. At least the food was good. Wife got healthy vegetarian plate. So you can get vegetarian here if you like. Not me I will stick with the chicken fried steak which is best around Colorado.

Why the 5 Stars? BECAUSE THEY DESERVE IT! Kawanda was the best waitress, she was very friendly and gave us great service! The Store Manager even checked on us a couple times and even helped our kids finish their food with a Big Chocolate Chip Cookie bribe. The food was great. Thanks guys
