Ramen was tasty, but I dont think its 20 dollars good. But the charsu was really good. My partner got a katsu sando which was bomb, better than the ramen for sure. We also got the saba onigiri but it was not that great to be honest. It needed sauce or seasoning, something! I used the flavorful tonkatsu broth which made it waaay better. Overall id come back, but id stick to sandwiches and maybe the skewers. Overall not a bad spot though.

Just WOW.
Chicken Katsu Sando is absolutely insane. It beats Tanaka IMO.
This is a gem for sure , they don’t skimp on pork and the breading is perfect.

I’ve been going to the Friendly Gardens pretty much every week for a while now and I always get the hanger steak kushiyaki. If you like quality beef that’s grilled and served on a skewer, and is intentionally left very rare in the middle, you will love the Dozo food truck. . It’s a small appetizer portion but a great snack to share or have as a meal if you’re not that hungry and also having a beer! They’re also friendly and fast. Some day I’ll try something else on their menu. I’ve heard the sandwiches are delicious.

Great Japanese street food, friendly service, can’t wait to try more!

The karaage chicken was **amazing**. All the menu items are made in-house and it shows!

Great vegetarian options too.
Highly recommend the shiitake and mustard greens gyoza as well as the eggplant and shiitake kushiyaki.

Love the vibe of the cafeteria area — clean tables, TVs on quiet, modern feel — where I could enjoy a less than mediocre meal (Donburri Kozi Chicken) from Dozo food truck. Rice was good (likely Cal Rose), not a lot of chicken (that had chunks of fat I spat out), drizzled brown sauce overly-salted the meat, and salad was not to my liking (threw it out). Also, the kid was nice and friendly but could use a lesson about sanitation — to not use his bare hand (the same hand I watch him brush down the counter top) to sprinkle garnish such as chives over my food. $14 (not including tip) for a thin paper tray of not at all authentic Japanese food. It’s been but an hour and I’m home, hungry again. Since COVID, I have become increasingly disappointed with eating out, especially at food trucks such at this.

This place is SO good!!! I can’t believe it took me so long to try it! everything tastes amazing and the quality is supreme. Every time I have a weird day I come here and get dinner immediately and I am cured.

We tried the tonkatsu ramen and the hanger Steak. It’s fantastic! Service was friendly, extra chashu was generous, 10/10 will come again!

I love Dozo. This place is my favorite food truck nearby; the food is incredible, the workers are kind, l couldn’t ask for a better Japanese food truck. I am so passionate about this place that I complied a rating of each thing I’ve tried.

Tonkatsu Sando- A simple friend pork belly sandwich. Absolutely incredible. The Mayo and sauce blend together along the simple yet fluffy bread, leaving a satisfying taste in your mouth and in your pants.

Chicken Skin- eh it was ok, salty and crisp. Would not order it again, was good to try. A solid alternative to chips.

Grilled Chicken Onigiri- simple, good rice, squishy. Wanted more chicken, and good Mayo.

Kombu Onigiri- good, not incredible but different and enjoyable.

Pork Belly Yakisoba- The flavor of the noodles and veggies compliments the pork perfectly. The sautéed mix of supporting flavors allowed for the pork to shine. The pork was crisp, and light, with an incredible cut of the pork. The pork doesn’t overpower the noodles but simply shines.

Hanger Steak Kushiyaki- The hanger steak itself is well-seasoned and simple. Paired with the dipping sauce, it becomes a completely different meal, the pieces of meat turn into cubes of flavor that are perfectly accented by the sauce.

Teba Gyoza-I really enjoyed this. It’s incredibly unique. They stuff gyoza mix inside of a chicken wing before frying it up. It creates such a unique flavor, I would highly recommend.

Normally, I order from one of the other places, but decided to try the yakisoba noodles with pork. It was very delicious and very rich in flavor. The pork was excellent and expertly cooked. I will have it again.
