SB’s Love Shack is an absolute gem.
It’s a smaller café, so indoor seating is limited and there can be a short wait. They don’t take reservations and seat only once your full party arrives, which makes sense for the space. When the weather is warmer, they have a large patio. Open 9 AM–2 PM.
The staff was warm and welcoming, and the décor has a fun, unique RVA vibe.
The food was incredible. I had the Glitter on a Mattress (Texas toast with bacon and sausage gravy, plus a side of bacon and edible glitter) — delicious and a huge portion. We also tried the French toast and a breakfast sandwich, and everything was fantastic.
Parking is limited in front, but there’s plenty in the back with easy walk-up access.
Great food, great service, great atmosphere. Highly recommend.

Y’all. This place is a hidden gem. I ordered the eggs Benny, and it was DIVINE. Accompanied by a very fresh and succulent fruit salad, and delicious, fresh dressed side greens….. my mind was blown. The eggs were poached to perfection! The bartender just fantastic. Highly recommend!

Hands down the best brunch place in all of RVA! We got there at 11am on a Saturday in the middle of brunch rush and had just a 10 minute waiting before being sat. Food came out hot and fresh. When they ask if you want to order a cinnamon bun before your meal comes… say yes. Trust me. Even the prices were incredible. We got two entrees, iced coffee, and a cinnamon bun all for under $35!

This restaurant is a great place to bring friends, the menu has some great unique options that I really appreciate. The food I had was very enjoyable and I liked the atmosphere, however the scope of the menu was narrow, there were only really heavy greasy options (which are delicious I admit) however there were limited simple or lighter options. I thought the pork with the scallion cheddar pancakes was a huge standout for me, and is a gigantic portion so split it with someone. The sticky bun was personally too sweet and overwhelming for me but I did love the whipped cream cheese frosting. Also this place is really popular and really should have more than one restroom as there was a line down the back wall.

Very quaint, fun, and delicious food! Antique shops to peruse while you wait to be seated( the food is worth the wait!!!!) Glitter on a mattress was fab, but not to be outdone by the eggs Benny, and BLT with egg and chicken salad!!! As I write this review days later, we really want to eat all of this again!!NOW!!

The food with the edible glitter is Soo cute! Love the atmosphere of this place. Staff was super friendly. It just felt so comfortable and welcoming. I got one unicorn pancake and the Glitter on the Mattress. Both were super good. Prices were overall super great.

A tiny but efficient spot in the little Lakeside shopping district, this is a great spot for breakfast or lunch or a weekend brunch. A huge selection of pancake flavors, and plenty of other delicious dish options, you’ll want to go back to try more. The breakfast chili is one of the most favorite things I’ve ever eaten, and the serving size is easily 2 servings. The wait staff is polite and efficient as you can tell they’re used to turning tables over quickly without making the customer feel rushed. No kids menu, so if you have a picky eater this might not be the spot, but really, who can say no to pancakes! I didn’t get to try any of their cocktails so I’d like to make it back soon!

A charming brunch joint in Lakeside! But a bit of a tight squeeze when it came to dining. We ate outside, not bad, but it was pretty hot that day. The food was great though! Highly recommend the BLT with a side of Sweet Potato Hash. Oh- and they had a really tasty beverage with Red Bull!

This place is a whole vibe. I went with a group of friends and everything we had was amazing. The breakfast chili was very flavorful. The scallion pancakes with braised pork was moist and delicious. The sugar buns were so ridiculously good. The bacon was crisp and delicious. I almost forgot to mention the sweet potato hash which was just next level delicious. The wait staff made sure that we had everything we needed and continued to check on us. This was such a pleasurable experience that I plan on returning very soon.
