Came here to celebrate a special occasion and it delivered. Made a reservation in advance but still got a later time slot because they’re so popular. Definitely recommend booking ahead.
When you walk in there’s a bar area up front and then the dining room opens up toward the back. It was packed (dinner time). Looked around and saw elderly couples, families, friend groups, date nights. The dimly lit interior sets a nice vibe like in other Italian restaurants, very warm and intimate.
The menu surprised us in a good way. It’s Italian but elevated and with a twist, like they took the classics and made them more interesting. The mushroom appetizer was so unique, comes with these big chunky potatoes that worked perfectly. The brussel sprout salad was a 10/10, super savory and filling for a salad. The margherita pizza 10/10. The pasta 10/10. Tiramisu to finish also 10/10. Everything felt like traditional Italian but just better.
Our waitress was so friendly and attentive throughout the whole night. Would absolutely come back and highly recommend for any special occasion or even just a really good dinner out.

We had a fantastic experience at Trattoria Marcella. I ordered the toasted ravioli and lasagna, both of which were outstanding—classic comfort dishes done right. The bread was incredibly fresh and paired perfectly with their delicious hummus, which was a pleasant standout.
What really impressed me was how family-friendly this place is. My 2-year-old daughter loved the calamari—which says a lot, because it’s not every day you find a toddler-approved appetizer at an Italian spot!
They also have a great selection of wines and cocktails, which made for a relaxing night out with the perfect touch of elegance.
Whether you’re going out with family or on a date night, Trattoria Marcella is definitely worth the visit. We’ll be back!

Met a group of friends here for a Christmas dinner. I must say it was great. We were seated in the second room. Our server was attentive and prompt to greet us.
We had appetizers and enjoyed a wonderful
Dinner. The apps – carpaccio, toasted ravs and carmelized cauliflower were super. My lobster and shrimp risotto was tasty. Our dessert selection for the group was chocolate cream brûlée, regular cream brûlée, spumoni ice cream, and a hazelnut cannoli. All of them were delicious. My preference was the cannoli.
I would absolutely return. Reservations highly recommended

We received a gift card, so our first visit here. The place is charming and was packed by the time we left. Our server and the staff were top notch and accommodating. We had calamari and bread with hummus to start. Saw pictures online, so knew I wanted the lasagna. My husband got the pork chop special. The food was very good. We’ll be back.

What an amazing restaurant !!!
Arrived 30 minutes early so we could have drinks at the bar. Bar staff was awesome and she took great care of us with a very nice selection of both mix drinks and wine . She (sorry forgot her name) made my date the best Italian martini.
Dinner 1st Mellisa was outstanding as was the bus staff – This young man had only been on the job two weeks and killed it.
So staff and service excellent –
Now to the food –
Traveling from Chicago to eat Italian can always be a challenge sorry I have been spoiled. I can’t even look at an Olive Garden when driving past it.
The food last night was outstanding. Started with the stuffed artichoke (awesome) then had to try the fried ravioli. Ok I forgot to take pics but these have been the best to date in the surrounding St Louis area (including your Hill area)
Moved to the lamb chops not me my date but they were excellent. I ordered probably the best rigatoni that I’ve ever had. From the sauce, to the shrimp & cauliflower it was outstanding.
Parking was easy – You will probably always need a reservation after 5pm on the weekends. They do have outdoor seating.

My wife and I went in not long ago. She doesn’t get a craving for Italian nearly as often as I do. So, when she mentioned Italian, so I jumped at a chance to try a new spot. Trattoria Marcella had great reviews so we went (no reservation on a Friday). Somehow they were able to seat us within 20 minutes or so. It was a bit loud once we were seated, but in hindsight sight, that was probably because of how excited people were over the food. I know we were. When the main course came out it was presented extremely well. Looked absolutely amazing. My wife had the lasagna, I had the rigatoni. When the first bite hit us, we were both speechless for a moment. The food was absolutely phenomenal. Everything cooked to perfection. The flavors were very well balanced and blew us both away. We can not wait to go back. Hands down the best Italian I have ever had.

This place was great, we had the lasagna, margarita pizza, and the raviolis of course! It was traditional and unique. We ordered the fried ravioli for an appetizer and also had a few loafs of complementary bread with yummy hummus. I wish the raviolis had a little bit more meat but they were covered in parmesan and basil and fried perfectly. The marinara that came with them was bursting with flavor and definitely homemade. The lasagna was rich with sausage, cottage cheese, cheese, and the perfect amount of marinara. I would say it’s the best lasagna I’ve ever had. It was a decent portion size and we took it home because it would be a sin to waste. The margarita pizza was on thin crust and seemed like it was wood fired. It had good amounts of mozzarella and just the right amount of basil and the perfect crunch. They had specials and loads of desserts. We did get a cannoli to share and it was phenomenal. The lighting was romantic and moody, perfectly dimmed. There were classic photos all over the restaurant. The service was excellent and couldn’t be more perfect. Needless to say we loved it and will be back!!!

Shrimp rigatoni was fantastic. A few cauliflower pieces in the cream sauce was a surprise. The tiramisu was truly amazing. And we don’t typically order dessert. So glad we did. Check out their Freebird mocktail!

We actually made a reservation for another Toscana in STL. The ladies at the front were sweet enough to offer us a stop on the enclosed patio with a heater. So glad we stayed. VERY good. The hummus and bread was so yummy to start. Had the Mista and Caesar salads. Both good portions and great flavor. Then my husband had the veal marsala and I had the special – pistachio cream pasta with shrimp and sun-dried tomatoes and mushrooms. Both were perfecto. Our waitress was Anna, she was very friendly and attentive. Steve the owner stopped by to check on us. Great meal. Thanks for letting us stay.
