We ate out at Herbivores several times, being vegan on big island, is not the easiest life. Every dish was extremely delicious and addictive. After a delayed flight and no food for 8 hours, we finally landed in Kona and found Herbivores after searching for a vegan restaurant. Truly some of the best vegan food l’ve ever had!!! We ordered the big moke burger, macvegan breakfast sandwich, carne asada tacos, and the wings and everything was delicious! Jeff the chef even came out to check on us and make sure we liked everything. The wings were definitely one of my favorite things! Who knew you could make vegan bone in wings with sugarcane???
Amazing!!!! We also got strawberry lemonades and the mint hibiscus tea which was so refreshing! The menu is huge and there’s so many options, so we will definitely be back before our flight home to try more things (hello oat milk soft serve!!)

I gotta say this is hands down the best vegan meal I’ve ever had in my life. Dole whip float was indescribably good the big moke was Ty best vegan burger I’ve had in my life and the wings were just as good with a super cool sugar cane “bone” that holds th flavor of the wings perfectly. Chef Jeff did his thing and this place was a major contributor to this vacation in paradise

Herbivores was AMAZING! I got the taro rice bowl, the nachos and smoothies. OMG it was all amazing. In person they also have oat based soft serve too. So good! Hands down a great place for a quick allergy friendly meal. They were really nice and willing to answer all questions about gluten free options too!

It’s a shame they aren’t based in the UK but a lovely couple running the restaurant. Always plenty of seating and has access to toilets.

The lady who look our order was amazing I asked if there was a bigger sizer for the smoothie and even though there wasn’t she gave me more than normal with NO charge! The drinks and food was SO fresh with natural ingredients! AMAZING!!!!!!

This spot is amazing! Staff was super friendly, big family vibes! Everything I tried was amazing! They even have vegan soft serve! I guess the food was so good I didn’t even get a photo! 10/10 if you are vegan or not this spot is super yummy! The jackfruit is so goooood!

Herbivores feeds me twice a week after a long day at work. Everything I have ever gotten here has been absolutely delicious and at great value. I am a particular eater; vegan, gluten free, soy free – and Herbivores always leaves me more than satisfied. Ivan, who is there every single day, puts so much love and attention into details. He is incredibly talented and I feel very blessed to have him prepare my food. Pro tip! Order online if you are in a hurry. I order right after I finish with work and by the time I arrive my food is ready to go!
The jackfruit nachos are my go to, but I also adore the love the sea chickpea salad and the smoothies. Love this place, such a gem. I appreciate how creative they are with food and the affordability. Maybe they will open a Hilo location one day 😉 Thanks Herbivores!!
