My friend and I had never been here, but we took a chance because we knew that it had been established in this area for quite a few years. We were originally just coming for happy hour, but ended up ordering drinks and appetizers and we were having such a great time that we ended up having dessert as well. Our waitress, Maddie, was a phenomenal waitress and couldn’t have been better or more attentive. She made drink and dessert menu suggestions for us that we followed, and we were very happy with her selections. We will definitely be coming back again and we might even bring our husbands next time!

Great little place. Service was excellent. Food was good. Friendly staff and even the other patrons were just nice. Plenty of parking. Would definitely return for food and service.

My favorite spot to hang out. Great vibes and even better service. The bartender is super attentive and remembers my order every time. Highly recommend!

New ownership seems to have really sent this place downhill. I’ve been here many times and it was always busy and food was good. Went for the first time in a while last night for dinner and it was fairly empty, I ordered a salad with sirloin cooked medium and received a well done steak. Someone sitting at the bar ordered a well done burger and got medium. I figured maybe there was a mixup at the grill, sent mine back and the second order was still well done. Their serving staff seems to all be new. We payed for touch tunes music and they couldn’t figure out how to switch over the stereo inputs to play it. I probably won’t go back.

My fiancé and I came for a laid back lunch on Sunday, and were impressed to find such delicious food here! Everything was high-quality and flavorful. The steak salad was very fresh and tasty, and we absolutely loved the lemon sauce on our grilled chicken with fresh green beans. The shepherd’s pie chowder was a really unique option, and the variety on the menu is fantastic. You could come here for weeks and still have new menu items to try! We caught them during brunch, so we tried the Oreo bash pancakes which are perfect for those with a sweet tooth. The apple crumble and pretzels with dipping sauces made for great desserts too. Loved the vibe, and have to say it’s one of our new favorites in Rocky Hill!

Really enjoyed brunch with family here. Extensive menu, very friendly service. Oreo Blast for brunch was popular with kids and adults, wife loved avocado toast. Eggs Benedict were good, although the menu promised pretzels as the starch and their supplier stopped. The server wasn’t aware and didn’t correct until it came out, but they offered to replace at no cost and were great about it. The actual dish was good and we enjoyed. Liked the atmosphere.

Was a good experience. Brought a large work group here. Started off with appetizers, Bang Bang Shrimp, Nachos, and Fried Pickles.

The shrimp and nachos were good. The pickles were overcooked.

Drinks were free flowing and mostly timely. Cocktails were just right.

Dinners ranged from Fish to Calamari to Burnt Ends and more. My burnt ends were a little too literal. I ate everything. They were over overcooked though.

I have been here for lunch and both times were good for the most part, although Id suggest being mindful of cook time on some of the foods.

We had an absolute terrible experience at Tavern on 3. We came in and the sign said to seat yourself, so we did. After 15 minutes nobody came to greet us or give us menus, despite a waitress making eye contact with us several times. I finally got up to find an employee to find out what was going on. The waitress that made eye contact with us claims she never saw us, which I don’t believe because she helped a table that was literally right next to us, just on the other side of the low wall/divider and she made eye contact with us several times. Another waitress was willing to provide menus and take our order, but at that point it was too late (my partner had already left the restaurant). I requested to speak to a manager because as someone who spent many years as a manager myself, I know I’d want to know about a large miss like this. I was told no manager was onsite so I left my name and number for a call back. Nobody ever called me. This indicates that the issue here is from the top down and not just poor performance from one employee. Very disappointing as this used to be a good restaurant.

I wanted to try some place new so my husband and I gave the Tavern a shot. I really liked the atmosphere and the music they were playing. We went on a Sunday afternoon and they had a decent crowd. Our waitress, Cara, was awesome and very patient and pleasant with my grumpy husband. He ordered steak and fries which was good and prepared as ordered. The steak also had a nice sear. I had the fish and chips which was way better than I expected. It wasn’t greasy, tasted fresh and was very flaky. They even have happy specials, food and drinks, Monday thru Friday I believe. I would definitely return here and will bring my friends on a Friday or Saturday night so we can enjoy the DJ.

Tavern style places like Halfway Down and Jeremy’s are great for a casual night with drinks and hearty pub food. For a full dinner + drinks experience, spots like Ensenada Bay or Prime on the Mile are highly rated.
