Veracruz Café is honestly something different. You can tell the food is rooted in real Mesoamerican tradition — Mayan, Huasteco, and Aztec influences that you don’t usually see on a menu.
The flavors felt authentic and full of depth. It wasn’t overcomplicated or flashy — just solid, well-made dishes that clearly respect the culture behind them. You can taste that it’s intentional.
The vibe is welcoming and relaxed, which makes the whole experience even better.

We had Tony’ Mayan Milanesa (chicken and beef) and skinny margaritas (with and without fresh jalapeños). Plate was over flowing with great tasting food and the staff was super friendly! Margaritas were mixed with perfection using fresh ingredients.
We topped it off with the churos. Need I say more??
Can’t wait until the next time!

Evelin did a great service. Food was good, we try this restaurant in another location, we love it. We tray this location. Not disappoints at all. Great service, food was good. I got Tony’s …. meal. Was good. Great combination, salad, protein and carbs in the same dish. Drinks were good. Evelin made sure my drinks were good

Welllll! This place was on point tonight, for my wife and I. This was our first time to go here and im glad to state, not our last.
Diego was super attentive with us and other guests.
To be honest all the staff seemed to pitch in for one another. Everything seemed to function really well.
I have to state, if you have ever gone to waffle house and you order your food. Your food comes to your table pretty quick. Well Veracruz Cafe its the same way. I am very impressed how well it ran. I complain a bunch about restaurants, but this place it mostly on point. My only lame complain is they don’t have booths. Like literally its my only complaint.
For drinks I got the ranch water and my wife got a long island ice tea. Needles to say, we only needed one of those.
We went on a Thursday and i felt this place was popping.
It was really nice to see and experience an atmosphere where people are talking and engaging one another and not on their cell phones.

Went here for my birthday! First time and no regrets! We were able to make a reservation a day before so they can set up a table for family. The food was actually very good, flavor was perfect, fresh and nicely plated. The service was excellent our waiter was very polite, understanding and accommodating. The rest of the servers were very attentive with drinks, picking up plates and making sure our table was well kept. It was a Friday and it was pretty packed with customers, it was pretty loud in there so maybe on different days it’s quieter? Clean restaurant, has a cozy dim light feel, you can celebrate any occasion here, definitely will come back!

This is from July and wasn’t sure about writing a review because I wanted to give it another try. But, I really don’t want to spend the money and be unsatisfied. The chips and salsa are great. My biggest problem is that I ordered a margarita ($10) and as soon as I tried it I knew it wasn’t made. I called my waiter and asked him if this was premade and he said yes it’s from a bottle they just add the ice. Then asked me oh you wanted a bartender to make one I can have him make it. I mean I was confused because as expensive the food is and the restaurant really nice I figured I was getting a good drink too (mind you a $10 margarita) I didn’t even drink it, ordered a tea and still charged for tea. The empanadas tasted like they were frozen and thawed after. I really liked the shrimp cocktail, really filled me up. And my son couldn’t finish the tacos because the meat was over seasoned but could be because we aren’t used to eating with too much salt.

We were met with a warm welcome the moment we walked into VERACRUZ Cafe. The service was amazing—attentive without being overbearing and never letting a glass go empty. The complimentary chips and salsa were fresh and flavorful, and the queso was absolutely fantastic. I ordered the Nathan’s Awesome Nachos and they truly lived up to the name—loaded, delicious, and more than enough to share. My buddy had the Quesabirria tacos and couldn’t stop raving about them. Generous portions, great prices, and an overall outstanding experience. Definitely check out VERACRUZ Cafe—you won’t leave disappointed!

I really enjoyed the food, but the alcholic drinks aren’t that good. I ordered a patron silver margarita, which i love at other places, but it was sour. I asked for the next one to be more sweet, but it still wasn’t good. The staff was so kind and accommodating! I would go back for the food.

We visited this restaurant on a Saturday night and could tell right away that it was a popular spot. Despite how busy it was, the service was fantastic. The salsa was excellent, and our drinks and chips were refilled well before we ever ran out. The staff worked seamlessly together—checking on tables, refilling items, and clearing plates as they went.
The food was just as impressive and easily the best I’ve had in Dallas to date. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I will absolutely be back the next time I’m in town.

I haven’t been to Vera Cruz in at least five years — honestly, probably longer. I went tonight to meet a few friends, and let me just say… they still get it.
The food was just as good as I remembered, the customer service was on point, and the place was packed — which I love to see. That kind of consistency says a lot.
I truly appreciate establishments that understand the assignment and continue to deliver. Definitely worth the visit!
