I enjoyed my first dining experience. My waitress was super busy. However, she maintained great energy and was completely kind when interacting with our table. The food and value were 100% on par for what we love about smaller communities. They had a buffet…omg. I would’ve passed out eating so much.

In Ark City we have places that serve you on dirty dishes or the building smells like a molding basement. When we want a good old school diner experience, this is the palce to go. Half the price of Perkins and better food. Not as many options…. but sometimes thats not a bad thing. I think maybe the staff needs paid better though. I didn’t see a single waitress smile or act as if she was there of free will. One… okay, bad day. All of them? That’s unusual.

Exactly what you would expect from a small’ish’ town diner. Nothing was remarkable, but nothing was horrible either. Chicken fried steak was better than most. A much older crowd. Everything looked to be pretty standard, but not necessarily in a bad way. Place was mostly clean and service was good.

Rode to Ponca City Oklahoma, just to get out of the house and had to stop by JW Cobb’s!
The parking lot was full because of their BBQ buffet but they got us a table rather quickly and we had service right away.
Definitely worth checking out! Homemade food, desserts and very friendly staff! It’s a place we’ll stop in at if we’re in the area or want to take a drive just to have them dinner rolls!!!
Chicken fried chicken is what we had and oh my, the portion was well over enough! We had leftovers that we happily ate later on that night!

We love JW Cobbs for the great food, the homey atmosphere, and the people. The staff are so friendly. We stop and eat here every time we are in Ponca City. It’s always a part of our trip. And, we always get a slice of pie to go.

Today I’ve ended up in Ponca city. I checked google and found this place down the street from my hotel. The ratings were high so I came in with high expectations.
I pull into the parking lot and I expected something different. I walk in, and it looks like one of those diners in a small town that have mediocre food. I’m sorry, I immediately passed judgment. I was quickly greeted and told where i could sit.
Visited wed oct 9 at 630 pm. I don’t know who my server is, but she couldn’t be older than 16 or 17. I was up in the corner on the platform.
Ya’ll, I opened the menu and I saw things I’ve never seen on a menu before. If you follow me on google, you know I’ve traveled the country. It all sounded delicious. That is, except the sour cream and raisin pie they had for dessert. Sorry, i try a lot of foods and am willing, but I guess even I have my limits.
I ordered the chicken fried steak since I’ve been on the quest to find the best this week and have been very disappointed.
Ya’ll, this place has got the best chicken (country) fried steak I’ve ever had. Thats it, I’m moving to Ponca city. My momma will be mad at me but where has this place been all my life???
The carrots were perfectly cooked and yes, i had sauteed mushrooms because, why not? It just keeps getting better and better.
The server didn’t offer me dessert. How insulting. Always offer the fat guy dessert. They had cherry cream pie. I was curious.
