It was our first time there, and my partner made the reservation. Even though we arrived late, we were still warmly welcomed and taken care of. The bartender ended up being our server, and his service was excellent. Unlike other places, we never felt rushed at any point, which made the experience even better.
The food was amazing overall especially the Steak Alfredo. It was the perfect combination, and the steak was absolutely delicious. To top it off, the cheesecake was spectacular. Everything in general was excellent, and we truly loved the restaurant. We definitely recommend it and will be coming back.

Everything about Opus 9 is exquisite. The attentiveness of the servers and the leadership team is top tier. We visited to celebrate my birthday, and it was quite an enjoyable experience. The restaurant had a wide variety of seating options. It was beautiful to see whole families of 10-12 people seated at their long tables. There was also a room of tables that appeared to be available for hosting perhaps corporate events. I noticed a group of people wearing office apparel with logos on polo shirts when we visited. The staff that greeted us at the door was also kind.

I was visiting from Maryland and wanted to splurge. I did call the night before to get a reservation for 1, as the online service was not allowing me to make it unless it was 2 or more people. The atmosphere was great. Very quiet and mainly adults. There was a party going on but still a good volume of chatter. I went at 8 pm and left a few minutes before q0 pm (when they close).
I ate the crab stuffed shrimp (5 count order) 10/10, three cheese Mac and cheese 8/10 (would be more but it came with green onion which i learned i do not like), creamed corn with cheese 9/10 (first time having something like this, I was pleasantly surprised, nicely cooked sweet potato, and a medium rare steak cooked perfectly.
For dessert I had creme ruled (turns out I dont like the custard but still nice presentation, and caramel and toppings were good). I also had the molten lava cake and ice cream ( I feel like the molten lava was dark chocolate which I did not prefer) the ice cream was great and they both were topped with a piroutte type of cookie!
It came out to 186.89 and I am not sure how much I tipped (I believe 15%)?

Haley was amazing and served me and my boyfriend for valentines day . She was very professional and sweet ! We had a great experience here . Food was very good so were the drinks . We will be back 🙂

We decided to stop in for lunch and didn’t realize you should have a reservation, but thankfully we were able to grab their last two seats at the bar. The location of the restaurant was good with plenty of parking nearby. The design and atmosphere of the inside was very nice. The food selection was excellent as was the taste of everything we had; calamari, filet mignon, and prime rib sandwich. The only downside to the food was the fruit side. It was basic cantaloupe, grapes, and some pineapple. The quality and taste was fine, just expected something a little better than that specific fruit selection but a very minor issue and preferential.
The only minor downside and emphasize minor, was the service. We had to ask for cutlery and napkins because it wasn’t provided when we were seated or when our appetizer arrived. Our server was very nice, but seemed a little busy and we almost didn’t see them at all during our service. Other staff brought our food and knives for the steak.
Overall, we had a great time and will certainly return in the future and would recommend them to anyone looking for a high quality restaurant in Hampton Roads.

We went to celebrate our first wedding anniversary, and the staff went above and beyond to make our experience memorable. To food was top notch, the service was stellar, the interior was gorgeous. We will definitely be returning, and can’t wait to try Everything on the menu eventually. Highly recommend, you will be blown away.

The staff here are amazing. Very attentive and thorough. They even brought us a small champagne toast for our anniversary. We got the New Orleans shrimp appetizer, which was really good. A little over half of my medium rare steak, however, was very overcooked. The server did ask me to cut in and they used a flashlight, but it was still hard to see. I didn’t cut in at multiple places in my steak, so I guess this is a bit on me. The crab on top was cold and unseasoned, so a bit flavorless. My husband said his lamb entree was “decent,” but it was drowning in sauce. We made reservations, but they did not warn us that our table would be right next to the kitchen. So we got to hear “corner” about 100 times throughout the dinner. This is just not the experience I would have expected for a nearly $300 meal for 2.

My first visit was during restaurant week and I had a very pleasant lunch with several lady friends. The atmosphere was lovely and allowed for easy conversation as we enjoyed several tasty courses. I had the Pork Wellington and found the pork a little tough. It was served as a “surf and turf” and included shrimp with orzo which was deliciously flavored and creamy. My companions were all very pleased with their selections and our waiter was pleasant and knowledgeable, and did an absolutely marvelous job.

This was my second visit and wow. The French onion soup is perfection – buttery flavor with gooey cheese. The garlic mashed potatoes were very creamy and a great companion to the sirloin cut. I’m not sure which was better: the meal or Jason’s impeccable service. Funny and attentive, his service was a real treat. Definitely returning when I’m in town again.

It has been a long time since our last visit to Opus 9 because of a couple of bad experiences and our two favorite waiter left. We loved it when Derrick and Karra were there because they understood what great service was all about(we came out about 8 times a year from VB). Tonight, while my steak was cooked right, it was NOT hot and it had very little flavor to it (the plate wasn’t even warm). The salad wasn’t the same and had to wait on dressing for my salad…waiting became a theme for the night. The baked potato was cold and when I asked for a refill of my drink that took forever. I had to ask a second time for a refill because the waiter forgot. The cream of corn was something we always loved and that wasn’t even the same and it was luke warm. It wasn’t sweet like before but it was okay and I was able to eat that. Asked for more bread and honey butter but she gave us croissants???? For the price, I wish we went somewhere they wanted to serve guest. Nobody said sorry about our experience, they did take the cream of corn off the bill($9.50) off the bill! I do have to say my wife’s lump crab cake(No shells for the 1st time in a long time) was good and her scallops were good too! My daughter Mac & Cheese was good but her fries were cold. This was my go to place when friends came to town but I can’t recommend this place anymore.
