If I could give this place 10 stars, out of 5, I would!!! I’ve been coming here for 20 years…. Old fair lawn alumni here and I can stand by this place as the best bagels I’ve ever had in life traveling all over the world.
Whenever I’m back in town I make sure to stop in and get a bagel or half a dozen. Whether it’s cream cheese, butter, or a bacon egg and cheese, River rd hot bagels slap Every. Single. Time. Long live river road bagels.

Very nice staff, very good food (Turkey egg and cheddar cheese breakfast roll. Cheese was just right amount of gooey and yummy, Turkey tasty and warm.) The important part tho was that I got a surprise mini bagel with my Kaiser roll order and that’s the best surprise ever. I love my mini bagel, it’s my whole personality now.

Got a Taylor ham egg and cheese on an everything bagel. Super good. Bagels baked in house too.
Points off for atmosphere because it’s a bit bright and the interior could use some sprucing up.
Definitely recommend.

If one wants to get their bagel fix, then this is the place located in Fair Lawn. Greeted by the staff, my partner and I arrived today for a small bite at River Road Hot Bagels. Their bagels are daily made on-site and have a lot of options. There’s a lot of foot traffic as it is takeout only with no seating indoors. Greeted upon arrival, we decided on a wheat bagel with plain cream cheese and a salt bagel with vegetable cream cheese. The bagels were light, fluffy with a decent crisp, good size, and tasty. The counter staff is fast, courteous, and accurate. Price is comparable to the area. We were first-timers today but won’t be our last, as we can recommend this place.

I recently visited River Rd Bagels while traveling, and it turned out to be a fantastic experience. Despite not being familiar with the area, I discovered this gem in my search for quality bagels. The service was outstanding, with a particularly exceptional lady who assisted us with genuine warmth and friendliness. The bagels themselves were phenomenal—perfectly baked and incredibly delicious. I highly recommend this spot to anyone in the area or just passing through!

Found my new bagel store. Used to go to Modern but the place went so far downhill (they use a Panini Press to toast a bagel, yuk), then I saw River Rd Bagels. Wow, what a world of difference. Better prices, much better food and a great team! Definitely my new bagel store! Thank you!!!!!!!

Superrrr picky about my taylor ham, egg, and cheese and can say they delivered what I was looking for. I am scared to deviate from my regular place but was not disappointed. everything was perfectly placed on the bagel and flavor was delicious. honestly recommend salt, pepper, ketchup because mine was lacking in the salt department but still really good. everyone was nice and it was very quick after we placed our order. actual bagel was fluffy and tasted fresh… enjoyed it and recommend giving it a try

This place has the rudest staff of any establishment I have ever been too. Don’t dare ask that your bagel be toasted because the bagels are already “hot.” One of the staff literally berated my wife to the point of tears be cause she wanted her bagel toasted. Everyone in the store was shell shocked. We felt like school children being scolded by the crazy teacher. Suffice to say, we won’t ever be back and strongly suggest to anyone that does go to the place not to ask for a toasted bagel. Ridiculous.

Plushy bagels, do the job, better than average! Won’t disappoint but won’t blow you away. Although my friend recommended them to me and he said they’re his favorite, so to each their own!
