We were all very hungry when we stumbled upon this spot that felt familiar (turns out I saw it in a movie ) It’s not budget-friendly, but good food is worth the splurge!

The Penne alla Vodka pasta is Highly recommended!

We just got surprised by the gratuity which is very high

A very bad dinner experience!
When she greeted us, we could clearly sense a cold expression on her face, lacking any enthusiasm. It felt as if we owed her money. There was no service at all during our meal. The shellfish were left on empty plates, and she didn’t even come up to replace them. We saw her standing at the cashier, playing with her phone. Most infuriating was the fact that when we paid, she pointed a finger at the tip section of the bill, pointing to three different percentages: 18%, 20%, and so on. This is truly insulting! She didn’t provide any relevant service, yet was only interested in collecting tips. We were extremely dissatisfied with this kind of service! However, we still generously tipped in cash according to the indicated amount, and even then, we didn’t even get a thank you!
The pasta was poorly prepared. The shellfish had only a peppery, spicy flavor, and the seafood flavor of the shellfish was missing. The tomato and basil pasta was unpalatable and I left it unfinished. The strong tomato flavor completely overwhelmed the basil, making the flavor completely indistinguishable. The vegetable salad was much better than either pasta dish!

We dropped in here on way to the museum. Whilst the food was very good, the service from the young lady wasn’t as expected to us. We asked for the bill and paid with $160 cash. This included the tip as stated on the bill. I gave the young lady the payment expecting our change (as this would be normal if you paid more than the bill). Returning with the change happens in every other establishment we’ve visited over the world. Not this one. Yes it was a small amount, I was going to ask for our change but decided not to ‘kick up a fuss’, we left without so much as a thanks from any staff.

Is this normal in NY? I understand there is a tipping culture there, but not to even acknowledge your custom is just plain rude in my eyes. Politeness costs nothing.

Nice place with truly great pizza! We ordered a large Margherita pie, and it was perfect—fresh basil, a crisp yet airy crust, and plenty to share. The large pie fed four of us with two slices each, and the total came to $33.22 with a cash tip, which felt like a great value.

The decor is classy, with exposed brick walls, classic furniture, and vintage photos of Marlon Brando and his contemporaries, giving the restaurant a nice, spacious, and stylish atmosphere. Highly recommended for anyone who loves authentic New York pizza!

Good thin crust pizza, but only if you add extra toppings

We picked up two large pies from Patsy’s in July 2025 – one white pie and one with 3 extra toppings of roasted peppers, onions, and olives. The topped pie was excellent, with toppings covering the entire pie, being plentiful and flavorful. The white pie, however, barely had any mozzarella/ricotta which didn’t even cover it in full. The “fine herbs” stated in the menu were just a few baked basil leaves on top. At $26 Manhattan price tag it was quite disappointing.
Crust was thin as expected from other reviews but lacked crunch.
Would be interesting to sample more dishes to better assess overall food quality, but I’ll leave that to other reviewers. 4 stars for now and neutral on whether I’d recommend.

A true New York classic that lives up to the standards! The pizza is exactly what you want in a thin crust: crispy, light, and perfectly seasoned. We really enjoyed the atmosphere and the service was solid. If you’re looking for an authentic, no-frills slice that nails the texture, this is the spot

After leaving the Nat History museum was craving for something Italian and I arrived here. I was seated as soon as I crossed the door, which was good and much appreciated.
Service was okay, food assortment was acceptable, not ample though.
Prices were on the mid 20’s for your typical plate of spaghetti.
Something which seamed outrageous was the 20% mandatory tip. That was awful

I walked into the restaurant with my teenage boys and was immediately greeted and seated, even though we didn’t have a reservation. This restaurant came highly recommended, and it did not disappoint.

We ordered meatballs and mozzarella sticks as appetizers, and they were fantastic. The meatballs, served with marinara sauce and topped with melted mozzarella cheese, were outstanding. My favorite, however, was the mozzarella sticks. They had a perfectly soft, crispy crust and melted beautifully when you picked them up. Each order came with three sticks, which was just right for us to share. I regret not ordering more!

For our main course, we chose the Margherita pizza with pepperoni and prosciutto. I could only eat one slice because my kids devoured three slices each before I finished my first. The pizza was generously topped with pepperoni and prosciutto. If I had a way to warm it up, I would have loved to take a whole pizza home.

As for dessert, we couldn’t make up our minds, so we ordered both the limoncello cake and New York cheesecake. Both were excellent! The limoncello cake was soft and spongy, while the New York cheesecake was simply perfect.

I would definitely be visiting again when I return to NY.

Food was great and it’s a nice vintage vibes spot, BUUTTT when my kid got sick and puked on the table and floor the staff didn’t seem to care.

Mentioned it to a waiter and he brought a stack of napkins. Mentioned that the area probably needed to be sanitized better and he looked confused. Mentioned it to the hosts at the front and they just said “okay thanks for letting us know”.

I must confess that I am ignorant of the flavor profile nuances that may make Patsy’s pizza stand out over the rest, but I am not able to detect it. To me it tastes like every other corner pizza shop selling slices.

With that said, the Margherita was very enjoyable and a good tasting pizza.

If I’m in the area, I would stop by again.
