First time eating here. Service was nice, prompt and friendly. Three of us stopped for early dinner. Server brought a pot of hot, strong green tea. This was good. The food was not that great. I had the hot and sour soup. This has bacon or pork sprinkled on top. Something tasted “off”, I think it was the bacon. After a few spoonfuls I quit eating it. For entree I order the Kung Pao Chicken. Lots of veggies, bell peppers, onions and too much celery. Again, some of the meat tasted old. The combo plates had a lot of food and I tasted the egg foo young. This was covered in gravy but pretty bland. I won’t eat here again.

Food tastes old. The pork or bacon they put was dried out. It was not hot or fresh cooked. Our server Leah told us it’s under new management and he changed the bbq pork, rice and some staff. The changes are not for the better. We enjoyed coming in and seeing the same faces whom treated us like family. Our server did not look happy about the changes and apologized too many times to count. It is time to find a new favorite Chinese establishment.

Me and the husband came in on Thursday. We haven’t been here in some time and decided to give it a try again. We ordered combination plates. Our food was served lukewarm as if it was premade and it was bland. Our server (Lea?) agreed that the food was terrible and even said we are not the first to point that out and she has talked to boss about it. But refused to give us discount on dinner we hardly could stomach. We used to come here and have leftovers for days, needless to say we took nothing home on this occasion.

Not same business, new owner. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. The pork stays in a bucket in back all day to dry out, the chicken is in buckets of water in the fridge, this is why it tastes so badly, if you have any allergies then your in trouble because everything is cooked in same oil and same pans, no way to avoid cross contamination, if you are vegetarian, be careful as your vegetables are cooked in same pan that they just fired up kung pao chicken in and if your celiac, your chicken is cooked in pans that just cooked breaded chicken in for the person that may have ordered before you. Listen to all the negative reviews left by customers lately, they are all true. I am sure the family of roaches that have taken up residence there come out every night to party.

The bad 1st. The dining room is a bit dated but clean. I dislike aka HATE their cheap silverware and not using the big plastic soup spoon one expects. Now that I have vented? The good. I am not a fan of Chinese food at all anymore. Its all always the same garbage relying heavily on MSG for taste. NOT HERE! They have some of the best plates I’ve had in my life. The egg roll was amazing. All the other dishes were unique and delicious. Again I am NOT a fan of Chines until today. This place will actually be on MY list when the wife asks where we’re going.
Great job Lum-Yuen!

They changed ownership Jan 2026, the food and menu changed as well. This is definitely not the same Lum Yuen’s, and I do not recommend. IMO there’s better Chinese food at Safeway deli.

Went for the lunch special specials. Wife got the daily special (sweet sour shrimp, pork chow mein, pork fried rice) and i got the conbo 4 (see menue photos). Restaurant had 10 to 12 tables full. Our order was taken quickly, hot tea came out right away. Moments later, our food arrived. Good quantity for the price and was filling. The menue items were fresh, tasty, and did not disappoint.Place was clean and the servers were friendly even though they were clearly busy. Upon my request, they brought out hot oil and chilie paste. They do have saracha. Personal preference though for golden crown chow mein instead(less celery). Oh, the fortune cookies are fantastic, something to look forward to as we finished the pot of tea. Overall, lunch was very good and will go back again.

I picked up my dine out order & manager/owner was yelling at poor girl that was taking my payment. I was appalled at what I heard no one deserves to be talked to like that. I’ve been coming here for years and was always satisfied with my food. When I got home my bbq pork was awful it had grisel and fat on it. My kungpow chicken was cold and it tasted like something else was cooked with it. The pork fried rice was tasteless and it used to be delicious. I will no longer come here and the food has gone down hill in the last year. Save your money your better off getting microwaved Chinese food from the store at least it will be hot and have some taste

The best foods are the ones cooked fresh. I stay away from the almond chicken as the dish seems kept warm and ready to serve with the chicken tasting boiled, not fresh. Same with the pork chow mein.
I stick with chefs choice family dinner as it is all cooked fresh and delicious.

This place is Fantastic! The chow mein is good , it comes with crispy noodles the potstickers are off the chain, the General Tao’s chicken, BBQ pork, and the wait staff is so friendly and knowledgeable. Great eating place.
Leon takes very good care of his customers.
Regina was great at making sure our every need was taken care of.
Can’t wait for my return visit ❤️
