Pomodoro Café is a blend of Italian conviviality, our “Cibo di Casa” (homemade food) tradition, and the ambiance of a “Trattoria” (small, Italian restaurant). We drove nearly 2 hours to celebrate our 1 year wedding anniversary here & we’re so happy we did. We had our dinner rehearsal here and it was so special! The Sea bass dish was INCREDIBLE, one of the best dishes I’ve ever had! And Steve the manager was an absolute sweetheart. OH and MUST order the Pepperoni rolls are simply amazing! 10 out of 10!

A hidden gem!!
I came here years ago and totally forgot about it but recently went back and was so impressed with it. Great lunch and dinner deals and specials and the food is quite tasty.
They are great with gluten free items and the gluten free pizzas are great. A little slow for service overall but a nice place to meet family and friends.

We enjoyed our time here. Our server Maggie was awesome. The garlic rolls were like little loaves of bread and were delicious. There were specials of the day which were reasonably priced. I’m looking forward to going back.
There’s plenty of parking. It’s in the lot with publix. You can smell the garlic from the street!

Went here for a late lunch on New Year’s Day and they were busy. Had their special appetizer and one of their meals. (sorry don’t remember the names). And the bread, OMG! Delicious! Next time, I’m getting some pasta, LOL!

My family was driving through Gainesville to Sarasota and stopped here for dinner. It’s located in a strip mall next to a Publix but don’t let that fool you—very cute inside and out! Service was good and the food was authentic and very reasonably priced. My mom’s entire side of the family is Italian from NY and these people are really Italian, I could tell when the chef/manager came out. We all enjoyed our dinner and dessert!

I absolutely love this place! I wouldn’t call it hidden but it’s a gem for sure! I love the authenticity, the food is amazing, and the vibes are overall off the charts. The homemade bread and the dipping sauce you get is what keeps me coming back. As well as the owner is very nice! I would highly recommend calling ahead and placing a reservation during the weekend, however not necessary if you don’t mind waiting for a table. Even if you’re just visiting Gainesville I’d write this into your itinerary! 10/10!
