Like most places, the quality has gone down while the price is going up. Id recommend finding a new place that cost a little more for better quality and leave Juan’s to your happy memories of the past. You’ll probably be disappointed by the flavor going today. Ask for the hot sauce, salsa verde; I wish I would have asked for the extra sauce sooner as it added much needed flavor to our food. Like adding BBQ sauce or buffalo sauce to make it edible. Lol! The churro cake made the dinner nice it was good. The salsa was bad.. the first bottle of salsa brought to our table was so old it would not pour out of the salsa bottle into the little plastic salsa bowl, the 2nd salsa was strangely sweet. The cheese dip is so bland for the price. They’ve noticably changed their ingredients and when I asked my server when the change happened they ignored my question and tried to turn it into a completely different question then quickly walked away. Seeing it as a sign to leave the past behind and look for newer restaurants to try out that might be offering food that tastes better than a cafeteria. So sad, the food used to be really good! And the service used to be great too

We visited this restaurant after a school function and were disappointed with our experience. The food quality did not meet our expectations. The cheese sauce had an unpleasant taste, and the chips seemed stale. Our server was polite at first, but the interaction became less pleasant when we requested to-go boxes and our check. Despite there being five guests in our party, we did not receive our ticket in a timely manner. After asking multiple staff members for assistance, we eventually had to go to the front to obtain our check. The service and food quality did not meet expectations, and we hope improvements can be made in the future.

I absolutely love this place! I’m so so sad they changed their French fries! I know This is hilarious for a Mexican restaurant! I’m telling you they had the best french fries on the coast! So sad that they’ve changed to something like in to McDonald’s or any other place like that. Please please bring back the original French fries! How will I get my tamales tacos and fries? Of course I love the chicken wings too!

Located right across from the beach. Decent menu and some deck seating. The chips are seasoned. The pineapple fajitas was a great choice. The main let down was the service (or lack of). We spent a lot of time waiting to order, get our food, and to pay our bill.

Incredibly disappointed in quality for the price. We got fajitas for 2 $30 and 3 steak burritos for $18 and nachos for $16. I guess I’ll be hungry tonight because the fajitas will barely 1. And no shells for fajitas.
Update: our steak burritos are ground beef.

My daughter really likes this place. It’s kind of a rundown restaurant that needs some work on the inside and the out. The food was good. The service was good. The atmosphere is very dated.

I had a mostly good experience with a few areas for improvement.
The restaurant has a great outdoor covered patio with a fantastic view of the Gulf, which will be even better once the beach construction is finished. The dining room was clean with plenty of seating. Service was friendly, and my food came out quickly—about 10 minutes after ordering.
I ordered the California Burrito, which I’d rate a 3/5. The steak pieces were too large, making them chewy, and I wish they had more flavor. The chips and salsa were fine, but they serve the salsa in a disposable one-time-use ramekin, which seemed unnecessary. Prices are on the higher side but not extreme. They’re currently switching menus, so the menu was temporarily on paper.
One odd thing is that it’s a full-service restaurant, but you pay at the counter. Parking is definitely an issue—the spaces are so small that as I was leaving, I watched a car pull into a spot, then immediately have to reverse back out so everyone could open their doors and get out before they reparked. It was funny to watch, but also kind of frustrating because it shows how tight the parking is.
The music choice was also a little unexpected—AC/DC at a Mexican restaurant. It felt out of place, but depending on your taste, it could be a pro or a con.
Overall, it’s a solid spot with great service, fast decent food, and a fantastic view. Some minor tweaks to the food, parking, and a few operational details could improve the experience even more. I’d consider coming back, especially once the beach construction is complete.
