On the toilet 2 hours later! I ordered Hibachi from the dining room side. Salmon and Filet were fresh/hot but the vegetables and rice had to be from a steamer, cooler than the hot proteins. Had them remake veggies, come out hotter but still mush as from once frozen. Disappointing

The food isn’t seasoned well so if you want your food to have flavor you’re better off going somewhere else…
The place was pretty much completely dead and it still took forever for the food to come out. Even after waiting the food isn’t seasoned and is honestly underwhelming.
They also put an automatic tip that is shown on your first receipt but when you go to pay at the front they prompt you to tip a second time after the automatic tip.
I don’t think I’ll find myself coming here again.

Great Hibachi and the chefs are amazing, put on a great show! Usually come a few times a year for birthdays, but lots of food and a restaurant side too if you don’t want Hibachi. Good servers and decent prices. Shareable option for $7 and its plenty to split and still have leftovers. Really good sushi too! Great place will keep coming back!

Took my girlfriend to Kobe’s on 66 st. St. Petersburg. I made reservations three weeks out I told them then it was my girlfriends birthday when we arrived I also told the lady at the counter it was her birthday I also told the lady that seated us and told our server and the chef. So after dinner they bring out two cup cakes for two other guests at our table and no hats I pointed to my girlfriend to the server and her pretty much ignored us. Now I know the cup cake and hat isn’t a big deal but to me on this special night it was huge. I was so upset my never go back.

YUM!!! Delicious food, EXCELLENT service, great atmosphere! The manager/owner? was so friendly and kind he took extra special care of our boys and befriended our 2 year old. Our server was very attentive and did an awesome job. Our chef was a bit cut up which makes hibachi so much fun! We will most definitely be coming back again!

The restaurant atmosphere was nice, we chose to sit on the booth side. The server was quick to get our drinks but took about 10minutes to take our appetizer order, actually taking the order of the people who sat after we had gotten our drinks before returning to us. I asked what the chefs choice was for the sashimi and the server came back saying I don’t know, then said tuna and shrimp….. So we ordered rolls. Had to ask for chopsticks and napkins, the taco appetizer had almost no flavor and the sushi we ordered was the same, very bland. There was no presentation , just food on a plate. The ginger was good, the sake was ok, the wasabi had almost no heat/just flavor, and the cuts were some of the worst cuts I’ve ever seen ( see pictures). The last 2 bites of the eel avocado roll were fishy.

The food was great. I had Kobe before in Columbus, Ohio. I loved how they accommodated my husband and I who are vegan. They grilled everything for us with garlic and no butter and served us first, then added butter to everyone else’s. All parties satisfied. A huge thanks to Kobe!

Kobe’s is an great place to enjoy Hibachi cooked live, our cook and waiter were really friendly with great attitudes and presentations. They were very sensitive to customers with allergies. The food was great, seasoned wonderfully and our grandkids really enjoyed the cooking show. Overall a great experience.

A Craving Turned into Disappointment

I wanted to love this place again. After a long week, I ordered takeout hoping for something warm, fresh, and satisfying—something that would bring a little comfort. Instead, I opened my container to find a full order of vegetable spring rolls that looked and tasted like they had been sitting for hours.

The rolls were limp, soggy, and filled with a mushy vegetable mix that had the texture of overcooked cabbage and the consistency of mashed potatoes. There was no crunch, no freshness—just a soupy mess that was honestly hard to eat. It felt like biting into disappointment.

What makes this more frustrating is that I used to enjoy coming here. But ever since the pandemic, the quality has become a gamble. This time, I lost. It felt like no care was taken in the prep like I was served leftovers that should never have made it past the kitchen. As a former multi-unit restaurant/kitchen manager, I’m highly disappointed with the quality of the product served.

I genuinely hope the owners see this not as a complaint, but as a plea to bring back the standard that made this place worth returning to.

Loyal customers notice the difference—and we miss what this restaurant used to be.

This was our first time trying this place, and all I have to say is that it was just ok. We did not choose Hibachi but opted to sit on the other side instead. Honestly, our food was cold. The steak and shrimp were so overcooked that I couldn’t even eat them. The rice had no flavor at all, as did the rest of the food. The only thing that was decent was the chicken and veggies. We tried 2 different types of saki, the purple haze, which is a warm saki and flower bomb, which is a bubbly cold saki. Both were pretty good. The Hibachi side is probably better, so I may give them another shot and sit there next time.
