Is Jimmy’s as good as it once was? No but it’s still very popular. This restaurant is owned by the same group as Grassfields in Andover, MA. The food here is slightly better than Grassfields. Back in the day, you could BYOB but the liquor laws changed in Arlington and Jimmy’s was one of the first restaurants to get a liquor license which I’m sure helped increase sales immensely. They were a small mom and pop restaurant with I believe a gravel parking lot and very small venue but they made a huge expansion decades ago to what they are now. Parking is limited for their present size, i.e. the parking lot doesn’t even begin to cover the capacity of the restaurant.
Every once in a while I make a point of stopping here to try the food. The food is okay and the prices are good but it holds no special place for me now; there is no more magic.

I love prime rib, and this is the best I’ve had in Massachusetts. Every year, for both my birthday and my husband’s birthday, we choose to spend time here. I always enjoy the prime rib, while my husband loves the veal Parmesan—it’s the best we’ve found.

Ultimate margarita. 16oz KC prime. Ghirardelli brownie. Great meal for a great price!

I’ve been coming here for over 10 years! While things have changed a bit over the years, the food has been consistently good and tastes just how I remember it! The staff is usually very kind (I’ve had some less satisfying experiences with some of the younger staff, but as a whole, the team is great). My favorite meal is the steak teriyaki and broiled scallops. I am always happy with my meal and will continue to come here for life!

Very busy local steakhouse. Certainly not a chain with some nice local flair. Despite being busy, the waitstaff is always available to help you and is very accommodating.
Great bang for your buck as all entrees come with a bread basket, side salad, and vegetable side. Fish and chips was not overly breaded and the fish absolutely tasted fresh.
Guarantee you will not go home hungry from here.

Went here twice in one week over Xmas break. First time was at the bar for lunch. Was greeted right away by the bartender (female) and was given great recommendations on what to order. The prime rib was perfect. Overall a great experience. The second time was for dinner in the dining room. Carolina (I think that was her name. She was from El Salvador). was an amazing server. Very funny and drinks came right away. An absolute gem. I highly recommend dining at Jimmy’s.

We had a great meal here tonight after finding it on the internet. Wide variety of menu choices including several specials. Biggest Martini I’ve ever had. Lamb was perfectly cooked and meatloaf with gravy over mashed potatoes made this southerner extremely happy. Great service from Han. If I lived here, I might eat at Jimmy’s several times a week. This one’s a keeper.

Haven’t been here for many years when I moved away from the area. I was so pleased to find when I went to Jimmy’s today to find all as I remember and loved it for; delicious good, awesome service, and excellent prices! As in the past, the servings were so large I had leftovers to take home for dinner.

I’ve been coming here since 1980 and it’s still just as amazing as ever. Recently I brought my grown son with me, and it was really special to be able to share the experience with him.
