My wonderful friends know I love Italian food, and in anticipation of my birthday, they made a reservation to dine at Basilico – Doral. I had hear raving reviews of their food and I really looked forward to experiencing this first-hand. Our reservation was for Saturday at 8pm. We arrived a bit before 8pm and allowed for the standard 15-minute grace period to elapse prior to following up on our table. The grace period elapsed, and my friend courteously asked the “server” as to the status of our table. The server unpleasantly replied: “The table has not gotten up, what do you want me to do, that is not my problem” After such poor response, she requested to speak with the manager, and to our surprise, HE WAS THE MANAGER! We were in awe as to the manner in which he poorly handled this situation. After this, we debated as to if we should stay or leave, and we decided to stay as I’m willing to put up with horrible service to have amazing food. I’m glad to say the food did not disappoint! we started with Grilled Octopus (which was perfectly cooked) and Burrata (which was fresh and tasty!). My main dish was a medium-well new York Strip with a side of Risotto. The 16 oz. steak was cooked to perfection and very tasty, and the risotto did not disappoint. For our closing, we ordered the Apple Struddle and Tiramisu, which were also outstanding. VERIDICT: If you are looking for amazing food and willing to potentially experience less than desirable services, this is it!

The staff at Basilico Ristorante are wonderful. They are friendly, attentive, and make sure you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. Their service truly enhances the dining experience.
The Food:
The food was overall good, earning a solid 4 stars. While my pasta dish was a bit light on flavor and seemed to use an oil other than olive oil, the dessert and coffee were excellent and made up for it.
Accessibility:
The restaurant is disabled accessible, making it convenient for everyone to enjoy a meal here without any issues.
Overall:

Our party of six arrived on time for an 8pm reservation and every single aspect of our visit was fantastic! We were celebrating and everyone had different entrees, and every single dish from the lobster ravioli to the salmon was beautifully plated and perfectly prepared. I heard raves on the risotto, the Gorgonzola ravioli with pear and fig in a Marsala sauce and the filet mignon and roasted lobster. We were all laughingly begging “bite” from the other plates to see what we were missing!
We ended with three desserts for six people and each of the three (tiramisu, crème brûlée and bread pudding) were delicious.
I HIGhLY recommend the venue AND the service.

I came here as a party of 6 to celebrate my birthday with my employees today 11/29/2025 @ around 4PM. The server Carlos clearly cant take a joke and asked us what we wanted to get started with. Jokingly i said ” well give us a $5 menu!” he took it personally and stated that “this is not hialeah” i felt embarrassed in front of my employees as he cannot take a joke and clearly takes comments a little too serious. After that he became quite hostile with me and i felt just discriminated by him. Not sure if he was having a bad day or what his deal was but i wouldnt come back here again any time soon.not to mention im also general manager of denny’s restaurant, 50% franchise owner of the denny’s i manage and owner of a sport wear company

It is very impressive to enter this restaurant and see how many customers they have. I came to the conclusion that there are customers for every restaurant. Having said that, I will not be part of repeat customers. The service was the best thing about this mediocre place. The pastas were ok but flavorless. The salad and dressing were ok but no flavor at all . Tiramisu was tasteless. Everything was mediocre. I give this place 3 stars instead of 1 just because service was decent and the ambiance was ok. Will definitely not come back

We had previously visited this restaurant, and have enjoyed it. Unfortunately, we returned for dinner last Friday and the service was awful. My food came out wrong on 2 different occasions. And our server ignored us most of the time. We had to wave him down in order to get his attention in order to pay. We will not be returning.
