5/5 – Amazing lunch buffet!
We came here for the lunch buffet and everything was genuinely delicious. The Chicken Tikka Masala and Paneer Tikka Masala were rich and flavorful, the Chicken Biryani was aromatic and well-spiced, and the samosas were perfectly crisp.

The live dosa counter was the absolute highlight — fresh dosas made on the spot with great chutneys. Loved the mini button idlis too.

Desserts were top-notch:
• Gajar Halwa (tasted homemade!)
• Rice Kheer (creamy and comforting)
• Gulab Jamun (warm and melt-in-your-mouth)

The place is clean, the buffet variety is excellent, and the staff is friendly.
One of the best buffet experiences in the Vienna area. Highly recommend!

I read a bunch of reviews and was surprised how bad the place was compared to the praise it gets online.
Everything was incredibly bland and tasted very slightly different from each other. The butter chicken tasted more like a creamy tomato sauce. The goat curry was mostly just oily instead of any spices. The coconut methi chicken was the most flavorful thing but every piece of chicken in it was 90% bone. The chicken biryani barely tasted like anything and had two pieces of meat in it that someone else took (I came when it just opened). And the naan was greasy and just plain. Nothing was even remotely spicy.

I don’t normally eat Indian food but I expected to maybe taste some things that I didn’t like because the flavors weren’t for my palate rather than most dishes not taste like anything at all. Service was pretty bad, there’s only one small room for the whole restaurant and it took us 20 minutes to get the check.
It was $22.50 a person for the lunch buffet so it wasn’t that expensive but unfortunately I was just expecting a better experience. The people rating this restaurant five stars and are saying everything is “flavorful and well spiced” must have the most sensitive taste buds ever or are being paid to leave that review.

We recently went to Bombay Tandoor Bar and Grill in Vienna, Virginia, for their buffet. The atmosphere was pleasant, and the service was very good — the staff were attentive and made sure we were comfortable. I especially enjoyed the Dosa and the okra, which were both very tasty. However, some of the other dishes weren’t quite as flavorful compared to other restaurants we’ve visited.

I did appreciate that they bring a sufficient amount of food to your table if the buffet platter runs out of any food item.
Overall, a good experience with room for improvement on the variety and taste of some dishes.

Atmosphere is good but service is slow. Seems like the kitchen forgot about my order as tables seated much after me got their food a long time before I did. One staff member, who I am assuming was the manager looked visibly annoyed at me when i inquired about my food.

Food was truly nothing special. The meal was roughly 50% more expensive than it should be. Also, tips at this restaurant do not go to the employees and are instead kept by the owner.

I am a Tourist here in Washington for one day. I visited walmart and saw this indian restaurant and thought of ordering food for takeaway as I am vegetarian . I ordered food for take away Daal makhni and Aloo gobhi after taking suggestions from their staff what is the Best vegetarian dish of the Restaurant and they told me Aloo gobhi and Daal makhni is Good. And ordered 2 lacha paratha.
I reached my hotel and Opened the food and was shocked to see the Food wasn’t fresh at all…Daal was still frozen and I can see lumps. Gobhi was still raw and not cooked at all. They make us wait almost 30 minutes and give me this food. I paid US$ 44 for the Food which wasn’t fresh. It was fine dining restaurant and Quality of the Food was zero and It got wasted .
I dont recommend food from here. Its Not Good at all.

We’ve been here a few times for lunch and the food quality has been very consistent. There is a buffet lunch but we always pick from the menu. The food is always very tasty. The service however we find to be quite slow.

Used to go regularly ten years ago. Recently went back (Sept 2025). Did not disappoint! Back in the day the prices were higher than other places but the atmosphere was nicer. Nowadays you can expect to pay $20 for lunch at dumpy places. So the value has gone up! The service was great! Good was delicious!

Bombay Tandoor is one of the great Indian restaurants in the DMV area. I’ve been a regular customer for years! What sets them apart is their consistency – every visit is as delightful as the first. Whether it’s a quick lunch, a family gathering, or a celebratory dinner, they never disappoint.

The authentic flavors of their dishes are unmatched. Classics like their butter chicken, biryani, and tandoori items are always perfectly spiced and cooked to perfection. At the same time, they continuously impress with new and innovative dishes that add a fresh twist to traditional Indian cuisine. It’s the perfect blend of authenticity and creativity.

The service is always warm, welcoming, and attentive. The staff makes you feel like family and ensures you have everything you need to enjoy your meal. They are knowledgeable about the menu and always happy to make recommendations based on your preferences.

The ambiance is elegant yet cozy, making it a great spot for everything from casual dinners to special occasions. The décor reflects Indian culture beautifully, and the atmosphere is always inviting.

What I love most about Bombay Tandoor is that they’ve maintained their quality and standards over the years. It’s rare to find a restaurant that stays so consistent while also evolving with new and exciting dishes. If you’re craving authentic Indian cuisine with a modern touch, this is the place to go. Highly recommend!

Excellent indian food. Samosas were yummy. We had Rogan josh and tikka mandala, both excellent. The Naan was greasier than I have had previously but tasted good. Service was fast and gracious especially since there was a large private party going on in a private room. They do not have mango chutney, something I sorely missed. All in all it was an enjoyable meal and very reasonably priced

I honestly felt like I got my life back after this meal. Everything was so delicious and packed with flavor exactly what I was craving at the time. We got the Malai kebab (chicken), lamb chops, chicken tikka masala, and garlic naan, and every single dish hit!!!!!!! We devoured it all and left beyond satisfied. Friendly staffs too – Highly recommend.
