Gorgeous stop along the Hwy. Food was ok. It sadly upset my stomach almost immediately after eating. Prices were great as they weren’t asking for $$$ for food that was worth $. The servers were great, nothing extra, but got our orders and our food out fast. Also need a sign to give directions….”guest, please find a seat and we will be right with you to take your order.” The only sign up said, “You can’t order in here.”

Such a fun “summer” tradition. We love going to the fence. I typically get the fish sandwich basket with an extra fish sandwich! If I’m lucky I get the spare tartar sauce for my fries when my other gets the fish dinner.

The views are amazing. The food is just fine – it seems like what fast food must have been like before it was mass produced. Burger wasn’t too dry, fries were nice and crunchy, chocolate milkshake tasted exactly like a chocolate milkshake should taste. It’s not the best burger in town but you can’t beat the ambiance and the servers are all very friendly and pleasant. I enjoyed sitting down surrounded by happy families chattering away.

Physical structure-The roof is in desperate need of a power wash. The inside was clean but needed some new paint.
Food-The food is not how remembered it being several years ago. It is typical May’s Drive-in food like the one in Muncy. My husband asked if they still had fresh cut fries. The staff said yes. However when he received his shrimp basket, not only were the shrimp not as good as he remembered but the fries were deep fried crinkle cut frozen ones. He reminded the employee that she had said they were fresh cut. She looked confused like she didn’t quite understand what he meant because he received there regular fries. Maybe she thought he meant freshly made to order. A lot of people ordered ice cream. I don’t see the draw unless you live in the area and you are hungry for a possibly better version of fast food.

Delightful riverside drive in with true car hop service. Don’t want to eat in your car? Get your order for any of the outside tables. The fish dinner was tasty. The hot dog was plain and perfect… Blistered and snappy skin and a yielding bun. Bring cash… They don’t take plastic. My only regret is I didn’t leave room for a shake.

This review is for all the negative people who don’t know how to appreciate a FAMILY Owned business that has been standing since 1951.
The “famous fish sandwich” on a “hotdog bun” is still the best fish sandwich around in central Pa. & Their milkshakes are just as amazing!
Their customer service could improve.
“But how happy would you be working in the heat with rude customers like yourself”.
They are NOT your typical waitresses, they are NOT there to run back and forth 101 times to your vehicle. They have many other people to care for. But if you could do better, then maybe ask for an application.
I will agree on the comment about the seafood basket. It is very dry and always burnt like. Just because it’s seafood doesn’t mean it all cooks at the same time.
But people need to appreciate and lift up small businesses more instead of throwing them into the dirt, especially a business that has been standing for generations and more to come.
No restaurant is perfect and no owner has ever claimed to be, and every business appreciates their customers, but not all customers are right.
– Some even Jesus cant make happy.

Very nice drive in, straight out of the ’50s (or so I imagine, I may be old, but not that old!). Service was very prompt, and the portions were decent size.
The outdoor seating overlooks the Susquehanna river making for an incredible dining experience. The only real downside was the burger was beyond well done, so I did take a star off for that.
Pricing was reasonable coming in just over $30 for a family of 5.

I had The Fence’s Own Fish Sandwich basket (with tartar sauce and fries). A gastronomical delight! And it’s right on the river, too. Cool! It was kinda chilly so we ate inside but lots of people braved the weather on the outdoor seating. Great local cuisine. And they have their quirks which makes it extra special….cash only and the waitress makes your change right at the table. Hah!
