Stopped in to the Goat’s Beard for happy hour and had an okay experience.
I started with the 30 day strawberry drink. Its a tequila based drink, pretty tasty. It had a LOT of ice in the cup, so maybe ask for lite ice.
We then got the happy hour smash burger and fries. $10, which seems like a good deal compared to the regular menu $19 smash burger. However, the regular menu one is a double patty and the HH one is a single patty. The meat to bun ratio was off, and the bun wasn’t toasted so it was cold. The sauce was delicious and we loved the fries.
The service was not great. Our bartender wasn’t very attentive. She also mischarged the drink at full price, I get it things happen but on top of the meh service it was more noticeable.
Overall, it’s a cute spot but I don’t think I’d come back.

We absolutely loved this place and would go back in a heart beat. We went a little while ago so they don’t have the starter that we got on the menu anymore but it was a pork in a gravy on French fries with some hot sauce it was amazing. I think we also ordered the OG pizza which was pretty good as well. If I’m not mistaken Sundays are half priced bottles of wine so we enjoyed that as well.
Our waitress Sophia, not sure if she still works there, but she was fenomenal telling us all about the menu and what she recommended, as well as upcoming things to look out for at the restaurant.
We sat outside and it’s Manayunk so you’re sitting on a hill which isn’t ideal but the entire experience besides that was just great.
We didn’t make a reservation I think we just called ahead to see if there were tables available and walked in.

The food here was great. The drinks were even better. We only got appetizers and alcohol but can’t wait to have a full meal. The waitress was amazing. We sat outside which had the heaters.

Everything about our dinner last week was fine. Our server was 19 so couldn’t give any drink suggestions. She came back to check on our food immediately after it was dropped then not again till the end. I got the steak gnocchi which was fine nothing special. My colleague got the risotto and said she didn’t like it. The Detroit style pizza our other colleague got was good. Drink was fine. Loud in there. Unlikely that we will be back.

One of my favorite spots in Manayunk! The food and service was so great. Wonderful spot for going for happy hour with friends or a dinner date. Love the moodier seating area upstairs. Highly recommend the dinner and apps! Loved the chocolate torte

The food was amazing. Loved the pickle pizza and smashed burger. The pizza came out first and needed some salt. Had to ask a couple times for salt before they actually brought it out. We waited to eat cause they said they will be right back with salt but took forever. Eventually when they brought the salt, the pizza was cold. When the burger came out, the salt was gone again. I asked for it again and they never brought it back. The must only have 1 salt shaker in that place.

Shocked when I bit into the French toast to find every under side was burnt to a crisp. It was not edible and I let the server know it was not good and I wasn’t going to eat it, they asked if I wanted something else but we didn’t have time. Proceeded to pay and it was still on the check… wasn’t thrilled to pay for something I could not eat also. Cute place & great atmosphere though.

I had the Detroit style pizza plain with just sauce and cheese. I’m a fan of this style. Great crust on upper sides but not towards the bottom. Very good sauce and the crumbs of the dough was spot on. So I wondered… did they cook it in a black steel pan as a Detroit Style pizza should be. While I didn’t go back to the kitchen, I did inquire of a server. I asked, “when you go into kitchen and their taking the pizza out of the pans, what color are the pans? She replied, gray. Hey kitchen! Get come black, carbon steel pans.
I had an issue with service at the bar. I had 2 hard ciders and the pizza. Each time I had to raise my hand to get service.

The food was amazing! The Brussels sprouts was cooked to perfection and the ramen with shrimp was delicious. Our server Shayna provided the best service and was very kind and attentive. Definitely will be returning to try more of the delicious sounding food on their menu!
