Our family of 13 made advance reservations for double birthday celebration at Tokyo Central Mall. Due to construction we were moved to Beaumont I 10 location. Atmosphere was non existent. Employees were helpful and pleasant. Food was tasty but served in disconnected preparation and order. Everyone at the grill table received their protein before veggies were cooked. No showmanship in cooking or presentation. Maybe Tokyo should consider updates at this location also. Our family will look forward to reopening of Central Mall location.

Honestly wish they wouldn’t have closed the Dowlen location. It was leagues better. I understand that Valentine’s Day is a big day in the food service industry, but under no circumstances is it ok to sit on hold for 25 minutes. Finally when the call hung up, I was already there and I walked in to place my order. There were two people at the host stand and more in the to go area. WHILE ORDERING THE LADY TOOK A TO GO ORDER OVER THE PHONE. This isn’t mentioning while waiting to order the guy at the host stand just walked away when I went to ask him a quick question. I waited 45 minutes in their parking lot until my food was ready. I sent my friend in to get it and they told her that it wasn’t ready yet and it hadn’t been enough time just as the 45 minute timer went off. This place isn’t worth it. Go to Sushi Masa and ignore this store.

Likely the worst service experience I’ve had at a Tokyo. I came for Happy Hour and walked in right at 4:30. I was seated at the bar by 4:40, and it was nearly 5:00 before my sushi order came out. For me, it’s not the wait time—it’s the bar team member not acknowledging the delay or setting expectations. She simply walked back and forth on her phone.
In my opinion, phones should not be out unless it’s an emergency, especially in customer-facing areas. The service industry as a whole is seeing a sharp decline in quality. I say this often: it’s not the team members or individual contributors—it’s management failing to hold staff accountable and uphold service standards and expectations.

So we’ve been there many times and decided to go there again for dinner date.
I decided to order something I haven’t ate there, which was Unajyu. But what came out was not a Unajyu that I’m used to…
I know my Japanese food because I’m Japanese and this was a bit disappointment.
The waiter told us that the restaurant is owned by Japanese and the manager there is Japanese, which I know from the fact it’s not true…
The REAL Japanese owners will not allow this as a dish
My husband hibachi ribeye looked good, so is combination tempura. So I give them 4 stars.

Our waitress was phenomenal. Even busy as she was she kept our drinks filled and answered any questions we might have had. Food and drink quality were great, as usual.

I’ve never been to a restaurant that cared less for their customers. Came for my 40th birthday. Waited 30 minutes at our table before finally flagging down a waiter to take our DRINK order. Then waited another 45 mins, never once having someone come check on us or let us know how much longer. Finally asked for a manager. She waited 15 mins to come out.
Mind you, it was a Monday and they were DEAD. No excuse. And the manager just shrugged her shoulders and said oh sorry. No emotion or care at all. So we walked out. Never in my life have I been so angry.

The food was great, our chef was personable and polite, we didn’t wait very long at all. The womens restroom was a disaster. Overall, I recommend, maybe the restroom will be cleaner!

Best Hibachi I’ve been to in Texas! The resteraunt is great size and was nice for a small family get together while we were visiting. It was nice to be able to reserve the private room ahead of time. Very clean all around, including the restrooms which were nicely furnished. I read a lot of comments that had different experiences, but ours was great! The hostess staff were super friendly from the beginning, and the waiter was very attentive with everything. The chef was AMAZING, and funny as he entertained us and was by far one of the best we’ve had at any Hibachi, so ask for Eddie!
The sushi rolls were great, and had a good assortment of options. Soup and salad were pretty standard, but fresh. The Hibachi dinner was cooked ro perfection and was more food than any of us could finish. All at a great price!
Would highly recommend for family or for a date night!
