Y’all need new headsets if you comically get orders wrong all the time. I just love adding my own Cajun seasoning to my “Cajun fries” that aren’t Cajun. Nothing is correct and then have the audacity to be mad at me for your lack of listening skill? Why do y’all suck? The photo below is the full order side of cajun fries. Y’all see any Cajun or is that the new flavor just a hint of cajun. The workers at night are always rude. Asking for just a side of cheese bites or Cajun fries be ready for a surprise cause it won’t be correct you either get large or small quantities of items never consistent. 12 fries for 5 bucks? I’ll go to mcdonalds or wendys to get a better value. Yeah the food is good here but it’s not worth the headache dealing with rude workers and a 99 percent chance the order being wrong. Your motto should be well “welcome to cookout where it wont matter which location you go to your order will always be wrong!”

Lunch hour, 12-12:30ish, walked up and stood there for 10+ mins before anyone ever opened a window and even acknowledged I was standing there. Ordered the two hot dog tray with nuggets and hush puppies. Nuggets and hush puppies were both way overcooked as well was the chili that appeared and tasted like it was scraped from the bottom of a pot days old. The explanation was that they were short staffed. Not a valid reason for an establishment to treat and serve people anything, anyway. Maybe close one of the two drive thru windows and at least improve the quality of the customers experience with fresh food and quicker turnaround working more like a team with the employees you do have on hand. Now I can’t even get a refund because I got back on the road before discovering the poor quality food I just spent my hard earned money on.

Being rude will always bring down the rating no matter how tasty the food .
I have been in the restaurant management/owner business for 39yrs. I understand the person taking the orders has no control over quality of food. But they do have control over the quality service. Being Rude is unacceptable during slow hours and rush hours . I believe this location needs a better management team and retaining its employees in customer service skills. Its managements job to insure the employees know how and follow through with basic customer service skills.

I typically do not write reviews very often, given this type of experience I thought I would this time. My husband, and kids and I were a late night grocery shopping and decided we wanted to go to cookout for a quick dinner and some shakes. We’ve always had great customer service from the new location in Waynesville. Last night was a different story. The person at the window was extremely rude would roll her eyes when asked a question and when we said we were doing tap to pay, she literally huffed and puffed and said “we’ll just give me your phone”. Then, because it took so long, the phone needed a password to use tap to pay, and she again rolled her eyes, blew her air and said “now it needs a password”. I’ve worked in the customer service industry as a server and bartender for 11 years, and my husband still works in the food industry as a chef. I have never in my life, dealt with someone as rude as this person I hope and pray that whatever is affecting her she figures out and does not continue to pass it on to customers who are coming to cook out for fun family night

Food always good! Price for meal is a good deal, and grilled items have that cookout grill taste. Best thing by far are the milkshakes, 100+ mix and match, make up your own varieties!

Stopped with my wife to get out normal fav we get but her hotdog was upside down in the carton and my hushpuppies were burnt and hardly edible. My msin entree wasnot made well. This is obviously a place tthat lacks any kind of care about what they serve. I can I forsee this llocation not being here long unless it gets better management.

Before this visit, I had only been to a Cookout location once, and that experience wasn’t great. However, this visit completely changed my perspective on Cookout for the better. I was hungry, and since there aren’t many dining options in the city, my friend suggested we give it a try. At first, I was hesitant because of my previous bad experience at a different location, but I decided to keep an open mind and go for it.

I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich (cheddar style), chicken nuggets, and a walking taco as a side, paired with a lemonade. The lemonade was forgettable—I honestly can’t recall what it tasted like—but the food was much better than I expected.

If I were rating Cookout solely on my past visit to a different location, I would’ve never gone back. But this particular location made a full 360° turnaround for me. The food was good enough that I’ll definitely consider ordering from Cookout again.

The chicken sandwich was moist, packed with a decent amount of toppings, and overall delicious. My only minor complaint was that the freshness caused the bun to get a little soggy, but it wasn’t a dealbreaker. The chicken nuggets were fresh, hot, and flavorful—though I wish the portion size had been a bit larger for my liking. As for the walking taco, it was tasty but could’ve been even better with a few more toppings. It primarily consisted of jalapeños, meat, cheese, and chips; a little more variety would’ve elevated it.

We went through the drive-thru, which was fairly packed, but despite the long line, we received our food pretty quickly. While waiting, I peeked inside the restaurant, and it looked clean and well-maintained. The staff working the drive-thru were polite, professional, and friendly, which added to the positive experience.

If you’ve tried Cookout before and weren’t impressed, I’d recommend giving this location a shot. It’s a solid spot in the area, with good food and service. While there’s still some room for improvement, I can confidently see myself returning or recommending it to others.

We haven’t dined here in a while. I forgot how reasonably priced their menu is. We ordered a BLT, two corn dogs, french fries and a shake and it cost just over ten dollars. What a deal, especially in this day and age when prices have skyrocketed. The BLT was really good! I’m definitely going to order that again!

I’m a Cook-Out enthusiast. Old fashioned fast food just like back in the 80s! I have made some pretty large orders before totaling up to $100 and EVERYTHING was perfect. This location does a particularly great job at what they do and I couldn’t be more happy that we have a Cook-Out in Waynesville!

So essentially, there has not been a single time (and I’m not kidding or exaggerating when I say this) that the people who work at this establishment have gotten my order right. It’s become comical at this point, and part of the reason I stopped coming. But this is an actual issue, and I think some better training or new hiring has to be done, because (again I’m not joking) Y’ALL HAVE NOT GOTTEN MY ORDER CORRECT A SINGLE TIME EVER. One time I had ordered the two-chili cheese dog tray with double cajun fries….and they gave me a jr tray with a single regular hot dog, cheese bites, and cajun fries. When I went to get it fixed, the dude behind the counter just handed me two chili dogs WITH NO CHEESE. I was so specific too, all I wanted were the chili CHEESE dogs I didn’t even care about the fries anymore and y’all STILL GOT IT WRONG. DO BETTER WITH TRAINING, HIRING, WHATEVER IT IS Y’ALL NEED TO DO TO FIX THIS PROBLEM JUST PLEASE FIX IT. Because now I don’t want to come back again.
