We found this restaurant since the other place we wanted to go to was closed. I have never heard of them, but they have really good reviews so we checked them out.
After parking, there were two doors/exits. We came in from the side and had to walk around to the front.
There were a lot of people so we got on the waitlist.
There is plenty of space inside to sit and wait. It’s a lot larger on the inside than I expected with many tables so the wait was not too long.
Once we were seated, we got our drink orders in and the server came to greet us. They had a lot on the menu so it took a bit to look through everything.
I got the pancake combo and it was good. They gave me scrambled eggs instead of over medium eggs, and the server was quick to get the kitchen to make the correct eggs. I would love to try other items on the menu because it all looks really good.
The atmosphere was decorated for Christmas, and there was a mural on the wall. It felt very cozy like you’re being welcomed into someone’s home for a meal. It does get very loud since they have so many tables and it is all one large open space. To pay, we go up to the counter.
Overall, I am glad we found this place! The service and food were good. Definitely will come back and try other items on the menu.

Staff was so nice & helpful. Menu is diverse. We ordered the chilaquiles verdes & carnitas omelette. Both were delicious.
Thanks for the birthday wishes.

Absolutely AMAZING chicken fried steak. Flavorful batter, not fllour-y, gravy was impeccable, hashbrowns crispy as ordered. The pancake was also a surprise winner. Light and crispy outside, fluffy and rich interior, absolutely worth the upgrade from toast.
Stole some carne asada from my friends chilaquiles plate and it was fantastic. Chips are a win as well. Tart Verde with a perfect amount of kick.

Huge value at a VERY reasonable price. Lovely servers and a family business.
Now on my list for any Reno visit!

The food is so good, I had the best chilaquiles, feels like I am eating in my grandmas kitchen. I would next time switch out the hash browns for some beans but it was freaking perfect. Family-run and owned place. Also the pancake was so perfect a little crisp but soft and pillow like too. Ps the sugar free syrup was Walmart brand and very tasty.

Anything you order will be the best thing you have eaten! Their menu is huge and their food is ALWAYS consistently delicious and fresh! This is a local favorite that some lucky tourist have also found. There are 3 locations; but I am partial to this one. All the same food and even the same derive staff will change locations so you are in good hands always with Jacks! My Auntie Melva and Uncle Phil have been going here for years and have also introduced us to this amazing restaurant and love to return time and time again. East to find location. Plenty of safe and free parking. There are always seating and plenty of ADA seats as well

Best breakfast I had on my USA trip! Super friendly staff, a delicious carnitas omelet, and very good lemonade. Big portions and I left the place very satisfied.

My latina wife loved her Chiliquiles. I’m a bit of a Chicken Fried steak connoisseur and for me it was maybe a 4 of 5. I did like the “Snitzel” style though. Everything else was great and we would definitely come back next time in Reno!

Different menu from Lily’s. Stopped there to eat while waiting on Subaru service across the street. Friendly staff, good food. Little more $ than Lily’s (the restaurant that was there before) was.

I really wanted to like this place, but the experience was disappointing from start to finish. The service was poor — my girlfriend’s toast never came out, we weren’t given water, and we only had one napkin for the whole table. Nobody came back to check on us. There were very few servers, and they were trying to bus tables and wait on guests at the same time. Whatever money management thinks they’re saving on staffing will end up costing them regular customers.
The food didn’t make up for the lack of service. My orange juice wasn’t brought with my meal, we had no forks on the table until I asked, and the carne asada was so tough I needed a steak knife just to cut it — even then, it slid all over the plate. The biscuits and gravy were rough and forgettable. Overall, it was edible, but nothing worth coming back for. Honestly, I’ve had better at a convenience store.
Between the bad service and below-average food, I can’t recommend Jack’s Café if you’re looking for a decent breakfast without hassle.

Ms. Caroline was amazing. Would not get the country fried steak again. Don’t care for the gravy either, a little sweet for my liking, not savory at all. Very clean and very quick with getting you fed.
