When we arrived, there was a family in front of us. The host seated them and took about six minutes to return. I asked her if they had a happy hour and what the specials were, but she said she wasn’t sure and that I’d need to ask the server. I ended up asking the bartender, who was able to explain the specials clearly.
We decided to sit at the bar hightops and quickly realized they were short-staffed. the host was helping on the floor, and the bartender was also serving tables. I ordered the Sunday dinner special (steak, ribs, shrimp, and fries) and my husband a broccoli cheddar soup. The food took a while to come out. The steak was only semi-warm when it arrived , both the steak and ribs lacked flavor.
For the first time at a restaurant, I actually had to use salt and pepper. When I received my plate there was a shrimp on top of the cocktail sauce which I found odd. Overall, the food /presentation was mediocre
That said, the happy hour deals and prices weren’t bad. Our total came to $34 , $24 for the Sunday dinner special, $6 for the soup, and $2 beers.
Philly Cheesesteak Hoagie was well done and delicious.
It’s been years since we have been to a Ruby Tuesday since the location close to our house closed. Went in for dinner tonight and it took about 1.5 hours to get our meals; over 2 hours from the time we walked in until we left. We all got cheeseburgers so nothing fancy or particularly long to cook and an appetizer of fried pickles. The fried pickles were quite good. Rest of the food tasted fine. I ordered my burger medium rare and it came well done and dried out. The rest of the burgers all came out well done but mine was the only dried out one. The portion sizes were small compared to what I remembered. We routinely didn’t see our waitress for stretches of 20 minutes at a time.
Very sad to see this place go down hill so drastically since the last time we went several years ago. If this is how they all are then it’s no surprise there is only one location left in CT.
Our server had a terrible attitude, spoke to us impatiently, and acted annoyed . It took a long time for anyone to even check on our table, and when they did, it felt rushed and dismissive. Good customer service costs nothing, but apparently basic courtesy was too much to expect.
The overall atmosphere was uncomfortable because of how we were treated. No one should feel disrespected when they are spending their hard-earned money at a restaurant. Unfortunately, this experience has completely turned me away from coming back.
I would not recommend this location to anyone looking for a pleasant dining experience. Customer service clearly needs serious improvement.
