In 1999 Billy Rowell, a commercial fisherman needed a place to sell his catch and Ridgeland, South Carolina needed a place to purchase fresh local seafood. Billy and his wife Donna decided to open both a fresh seafood market and Fiddler’s Seafood Restaurant.
Billy focused on the market and Donna dove into the restaurant- building both from scratch to the iconic destination it is today.
Lynden and Sally Zuniga took over Fiddlers Seafood Restaurant and Fiddlers Seafood Market in January of 2023. With Chef Lynden having extensive seafood experience, he was up for the challenge to maintain what makes Fiddlers a staple in the Lowcountry.
We look forward to serving our loyal local community as well as visitors passing through. See ya soon!

Stopped at this local seafood restaurant on our way to Florida and we were very pleased with our food. The fried shrimp were crispy and very tasty. The blackened catfish and scallops were fabulous. We all loved the fried mushrooms and fried green tomatoes they were crispy and not soggy. The service was very good and we enjoyed dinner with the locals. Best of all, the prices are amazing. We will return

Had the catfish and I have to say the best fish I’ve ever had! Workers are friendly and helpful and the kitchen staff do an amazing job with a good balance of seasoning and quality cooking! I highly recommend this restaurant!

Some of the food was very good. But the special which should have been on point, was -so. The shrimp and grits was special for the evening the flavor was very good but it didn’t wow me overall. The shrimp were cut in half. They also forgot my banana pudding and when I went back in to get it they were out.

Ordered scallops & oyster combo over the counter; paid up front with one of those Apple registers. The board says choice of either grilled or fried. I requested grilled. Cashier said, sorry our grill is already cleaned & closed (@ 2pm?). So, begrudgingly, I guess fried it is. Also ordered 2 crab stews & side salad. Crab stews delivered to our table gelatinous cold served in styrofoam dish cups as if they came right off the fridge. After a spoonful, when we mentioned it was cold, she said “oh, is it?” & continued to turn her back and walked away. You would think she’d know better when she handled & closed the lid of the cup that the soups were not hot. Would have been nice to offer the stews to be reheated. The combo came right of the fryer served nice & hot… although the 7pcs scallops were fake (came from frozen molded surimi blend), not fresh authentic bay or sea scallops. The 3 pcs fried oysters were heavily breaded. Sweet potato was nice & hot (no butter accompaniment); probably the most edible besides the side salad. Dirty rice was decent tasting, arrived luke warm in a styrofoam cup. Additional $4 on county & local taxes. 15% undeserved tip. Total $46. Overall, terrible experience; lousy service, waste of money.

My friend & I stopped in to grab take out on our way home from Philly. The place is cute. The food was good. I got an oyster basket with collard greens & my friend got catfish with fried squash. I would eat here again, if I lived closer, to try the other dishes they offer.

My husband and I ordered the fried green tomatoes. The tomatoes itself was cooked well. However, it was very limp and the batter soggy. The batter tasted like it was seasoned well, just not crispy at all. I had the Whiting basket w/dirty rice as my side. The dirty rice was okay. The fish was the same as the fried green tomatoes, cooked well but limp and not crispy. The hush puppies was okay…too sweet for my liking though. The spicy Thai shrimp was cooked well, nice in size, and very delicious. My son ordered a scallop Po’boy. He said the scallop itself was cooked well and tasted delicious. However, the sandwich was underwhelmingly sightly dissatisfying. There was no sauce, it had a slice of tomato, and a leaf of lettuce. Though some of the food was okay and/or delicious, the presentation sucked. We were so disappointed of it all.

I got the pick 2 basket with fried flounder, deviled crab, sweet potato fries, and onion rings. The deviled crab was very gummy – I didn’t enjoy it and left most of it on the plate. I didn’t pick up on any crab in it. The fried flounder and the sweet potato fries were just alright. The fries were not crispy and the hush puppies were completely raw inside. The onion rings were pretty greasy. The banana pudding was DELICIOUS though – I could eat a giant bowl of it! My boyfriend got the shrimp poy boy and said it was alright.

A quirky little hole in the wall eatery with excellent eats and wonderful service!
The scallops were perfectly seasoned and expertly prepared along with very tasty hush puppies and in-house made coleslaw.
I washed it down with a delicious Modelo beer.
I highly recommend this place!

Fiddlers Seafood Restaurant has some genuinely tasty dishes — the seafood was fresh, well-seasoned, and cooked just right. The atmosphere is chill and inviting, definitely has that cozy coastal feel even if you’re not near the water.
But the service… oof. Let’s just say it wasn’t in a rush to get to our table. Friendly, yes — but sloooow. Like, “read a book while you wait” slow.
Pro tip: Go in with a bit of patience and a big appetite. The food’s worth the wait — just don’t expect a quick lunch break here.
P.S. Still dreaming about those shrimp tacos.
