Beginning with its appearance, Zukku-San Sushi has both elegance and charm as you stepped into the restaurant. The color palette of the interior design alongside the moderate patterns was pleasant to the eye showcasing both class and reservation. In the same vein, the minimalistic feel continues on with the tables as you won’t find it being cluttered with too many items.
There is a spacious feel despite the number of tables. There is available booth seating as well, however these are few compared to the table seating in the open dining area. I imagine that these are generally reserved for larger parties during peak hours. Similar to other sushi restaurants, there is a small sushi prep area around which counter seating wraps.
We arrived around the 11am on a weekday right before Christmas. As you can imagine, the restaurant had just opened so there was minimal traffic in and out of the venue. From start to finish, we received the appropriate amount of attention and service from the staff which contributed to the genuine private feel to our dining experience.
There is a lot on the menu, but don’t be disheartened as it is actually well organized, providing a bit of a guide as you navigate through the various pages of options. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the O-TORO TARTAR (I believe the menu is updated or it is a seasonal item) for the appetizer, with PICASSO and SPICY BLUEFIN TUNA Rolls (you’ll find these in the “Masterpiece Sushi Rolls” section) for your main selections.
Honestly, my expectations were set pretty low coming when it came to flavor and quality, so to say that I was “WOWed” by Zukku-San is an understatement – I was blown out of the water. I was happily surprised and amazed at the food here at Zukku-San. Beginning with the O-Toro Tartar, the appetizer was perfectly plated as if you were eating at a Michelin-star restaurant. The flavor was rich and decadent in all the right ways. Each bite delivered an amazing performance which is complimented by the clashing textures of the tartar along with the crunch of the thins. The rolls were no different – the rolls were neatly and beautifully made. The flavors here were also on point.
Needless to say, I am so glad that I found Zukku-San. Located across 54/56 from the Outlets, Zukku-San is a great restaurant to go to if you’re in the area. Even if you’re not in the area, it is definitely worth going to if you want to enjoy a great meal.
10/10 recommend if you want to impress a date, spouse, or coworkers for a work lunch!
Food 10/10
Atmosphere 8/10
I had an amazing experience here. The Tokyo Ribs were the highlight. They were incredibly tender and juicy with a perfect grill char and a rich savory sweet glaze that tasted excellent in every bite. The rice and vegetables on the side were fresh and complemented the ribs really well.
The Opera Cake was delicious and felt like the perfect finish. It was rich and smooth with beautiful layers and a balanced sweetness. The chocolate and coffee notes came through perfectly and made it feel extra indulgent without being heavy.
Service was a 10 out of 10. Friendly, attentive, and fast. Food was a 10 out of 10. Atmosphere was an 8 out of 10 and still very enjoyable. I would absolutely come back and recommend it.
This time we ordered the chicken teriyaki—huge portions and absolutely delicious. We also tried the ribs and they were spectacular. Service was excellent with great attention throughout our visit, and the prices are honestly unbeatable for the quality. Highly recommend.
The restaurant was beautiful, clean, amazing vibes. Just wish we had a little more attentive server.
When I received my Zukku roll I was disappointed to find that no soy sauce, wasabi, or ginger was provided. The roll only have lemon slices on 4 of the 8 pieces.
I also ordered chicken fried rice which came with the option of soup or salad. I chose miso soup which had 2 total pieces of tofu. My chicken fried rice had numerous pieces of chicken that were charred. The fried rice was so char tasting it was inedible
I was given 3 pairs of chopstick and 3 plastic renge spoons but no fork or regular spoon to eat the rice.
My rating is based on the fact that while they serve great food, if you go when they are busy it is best to leave. This is now the third time I’ve ordered when the restaurant was full and the food did not meet the quality I was expecting.
I had the cucumber mojito mocktail that was very yummy and refreshing. The spring rolls were not overly greasy but nice and crisp. The edamame had a good level of seasoning.
All my coworkers enjoyed their sushi but I decided to try the fried tofu udon noodle bowl which was generous portions and very flavorful.
The pricing for the establishment, food quality and staff is extremely fair! Would recommend and I would come back to try the veggie sushi!
