Birria tacos were amazing! Loved the consommé for dipping! Chicken enchiladas were good. Have to say the charging for chips at $4 and then them being extremely hard as a rock, I would never get them again! The salsas less to be desired that comes with the chips as well. But don’t get me wrong they’re sauces are exceptional! They need to really fix the outdoor lighting, whatever was replaced outside for there outdoor lighting is the brighter than the sun, you have to squint if you’re sitting near a window in the place LOL!

Food is great. Very authentic. Feels like I’m back in vacation in Mexico. Price doesn’t break the bank especially during happy hours when every taco is half off. They do charge for chips and salsa but with the rest of the price being so low it is justifiable.
Ambience of the place sticks true to Mexican heritage. If you are sensitive to smell, the place does smell like fried pork but it also adds charm to the place since you don’t feel like you are in Michigan if you’re inside.

My parents and I had been out in the area and were looking for somewhere new to eat. Los Tortogas was in a little strip mall nearby, so we thought we’d check it out.
First, we were happy to find that it was wheelchair and walker accessible, and that the handicap parking was close and easy to navigate.
The staff were WONDERFUL. They held doors for us, handled my father’s special requests with grace and patience, and too their time making sure both my parents felt heard and served. They were lovely.
The guacamole was top notch, and the smothered tamales were fantastic. Horchata, excellent. My parents both thoroughly enjoyed their food as well. There was plenty to take home leftovers.
The only challenge we had was my elderly parents being able to hear over the din of a Friday night crowd. That said, we’ve talked about going back, but perhaps for lunch, so it’s quieter. This was totally not the restaurant’s issue, it was just a loud crowd that night.
While this place is not near where we live, you can bet when we are in the area, we will be going back!

I’ve been here twice. This restaurant has good service, the waitress does an amazing job, and the atmosphere is great. But I’m definitely not coming back a third time. I liked the flavor of the tacos, but the price to amount of meat ratio is unfair. Today I ordered the torta de milanesa and it barely had any chicken because the milanesa is terribly thin. Now I’m on my way to get some food because I’m still hungry.

Las Tortugas Taqueria was really good! The environment feels pretty authentic and the food was really good! I ordered four tacos and they were all great. It was cool that you could get different meats for the tacos so it was fun to try different options. The tacos were honestly pretty cheap and the whole menu is pretty affordable. The tacos themselves were delicious and tasted pretty authentic! Overall, super good restaurant and something I’d definitely recommend if you’re in the area!

Stopped in for happy hour and it did not disappoint! The chicken tacos were fresh, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned — you can tell everything’s made with care. Adan took great care of us with friendly, fast service, and the place has a relaxed, genuine vibe that makes you want to hang out a little longer.

Started of with chips and salsa. Chips tasted oily and weren’t hot.
Chorizo tacos had a lot of flavor and the birria tacos were good. The consomme on its own was really salty.
Waitress never came back to see if we need refills and it was pretty empty. Two other tables besides us.
Restaurant was really clean and they played good music.

This place is awesome! Great staff (shout out to Sophie), excellent food (fajitas, chimichangas, short ribs ), and a fun atmosphere. The menu may be slightly confusing so I’ll do a quick breakdown. The front of the menu is à la carte. At the top is the meats to choose from and the items are below. On the back is the meals. The main dishes come with rice and beans and chips and salsa. Regular à la carte items requires you purchase chips and salsa. The drink menu is huge and they have an incredible amount of different types of tequila. Very top shelf choices all the way down to regular ol house tequila. So, with this all said, I highly recommend Las Tortas Taqueria if you’re looking for a fun, lively spot, with great food and drinks.

What a great gem to find!! We got the birria tacos and they were THE BEST. Mouth watering juicy, tender, cheesy, perfect amount of crunch! We couldn’t get enough and had to order more! We also got the guacamole which was amazingly fresh and tasty. & the queso and chips were just as good. We will definitely be back when we have a craving for some birria tacos! Loved the lively atmosphere with upbeat music and lights. Such a fun vibe. Need to try the drinks next time we come!

Take my girl here all the time. It’s her favorite authentic Mexican food bar and grill to go to. We have been to many places and this is top on the list. If you want a great chill place to enjoy a GREAT meal, this is the place to go! Look out for the cool guy with the cowboy hat. He will treat you very well. Adam is the name!! If you are driving please slow down because you will miss it. Take the MI left and come back to enjoy great food. Big D says HELL YES!!!
