Good food, neat house, and decent experience in South Town. Been here a few times, usually good overall. Food is descent overall, but there are some delicious items on the menu to not miss (the burger isn’t one of them). Wait staff are a mixed bag, some are outstanding, some barely come to the table and show no hustle. It hasn’t stopped us from coming though – that says a lot!

This place is such a vibe. We wondered to this place during First Friday Art Walk. We happened upon an elevator on the side of this building without realizing where it was leading to. We enter and its neon pink with signs signaling to the top floor. The elevator dings and you are greeted with cozy, eclectic, buzzing vibes of a cool and swanky place. It’s just the right energy for a casual but also cool spot. The bartenders make excellent drinks! And the food is also pretty good. There is not bad seat in the place in my opinion.
Also! I had to told the waiter we were there to celebrate my father in laws birthday, and the waitress brought out a slice with a candle! It was so sweet and thoughtful. He said it was his best birthday ever! I highly recommend coming to this place at night if you want immaculate vibes.

We have gone here since the old location opened. Barbecue tacos, the #3 and the bread is excellent. Excellent vibe in a historic Benedictine church

Liberty Bar, which is located in Southtown, SATX, is a great spot for a cocktail + delicious food! 🙂 I visited for the first time this weekend, and had a great experience. The vibes inside Liberty Bar are incredible, as the house the restaurant is based in is quite historic. Per their website, the Henry Elmendorf house was constructed in 1882 in the Silk Stocking neighborhood known as King William.
They make a delicious House Margarita (I love the Strawberry House Marg the most), and The Sheep Ranch is a great seasonal tequila-based cocktail that was on their menu when I initially reviewed Liberty Bar! For starter plates, their Beirut Flashback with Fresh Baked Pita is really delicious – so fresh!! The staff at Liberty Bar are so kind, as well. This is a great spot!!

I’ve been in San Antonio for two years and never been at Liberty Bar before last week, sadly.
Really nice location, near other businesses, everything walking distance in a cute downtown area. The place inside looks warm and welcoming. I ordered pot roast and chocolate cake. I appreciated that they use quality ingredients and they keep the menu not overwhelming but with choice.
The roast was good, simple and tasty as a dish like that should be.
I do want to spend a couple of words on the cake because to me it’s very hard to find a good dessert. My main concern is how sweet American desserts are. Well, this cake had the right amount of sweetness, it was enjoyable, it was the perfect amount of dessert after a meal and I wasn’t grossed out by the end, which is rare. I really appreciated the quality of the ingredients used and the balanced flavours. Although I don’t like American carrot cake, I did taste some from a friend and I tasted the same care in preparation for that cake, not too much spice and not too much sweetener. I could taste all the ingredients separately which is what a dessert should be like. I’ll definitely go back again to try more of the menu!

Beautiful and eclectic, great views, great vibe, and the prices are very reasonable for the quality of food you receive. The bread, pizza dough, and fettuccine are made in-house. The drinks are well made, and the decor is fun and shares a history of the place. I would say a 4.6 experience. The only real negative was that the music is way too loud by the speakers, so it feels that you have to raise your voice when speaking, and it’s hard to hear anything. It made everyone raise their voices, which just increased the noise levels. Besides that, great experience. Will be going again.

I’m here specifically to talk about the matzah ball soup. I came here last night after a long time away and forgot how magical this place is, especially at night. I was in the mood for a comforting soup, and this dish truly made me feel like everything was gonna be okay. In fact, this soup was the first thing I thought about this morning, hence this review. The broth was clear and full of flavor. The fresh celery and dill really tied it all together. I had never had a matzah ball before but if this is what they’re supposed to taste like, then I totally get the hype. Great flavor and texture. Service was excellent as well! Can’t wait to come back and have it again.

The outside is absolutely beautiful definitely picture worthy, but I send you step inside. It doesn’t match the outside. The food was not good. It was super bland with no flavor. The service was the worst part. Unfortunately Chloe had no personality and you could barely grab something out of her hand before she was walking away almost dropped our water glasses. Secondly, I was trying to be friendly with her and say her bracelet reminded me when I was younger and I was smiling and she basically gave a look like I don’t give a crap. Why are you talking to me?! I will not be back. Our table was friendly. I left a 20% tip. If not more just the service alone will be the main reason why I’m not coming back. Secondly, the food unfortunately.

Liberty Bar was awesome. My friends and I stopped in here to burn some time, and we had a blast.
The food was delicious. I ordered the burger medium cooked with all the toppings to include an egg. The sourdough bun whichbisbmade in house was great as well. The bread could have been thinner, but that is just my take on it. The fries were phenomenal. They were crispy and soft on the inside, and the seasoning was perfect. I definitely recommend the fries as a side.
The service was great. Our bartender was very knowledgeable on the menu and also had the food before, so he was able to provide excellent insight into the taste of the food.
The ambiance was very chill. There are random pics of art everywhere and mirrors along the wall. I really enjoyed the selection of music played. The song selection really complimented the vibe of the place. If you want to relax and chill with your friends and have some good food and drinks, I would definitely visit here.

Are the locals hiding this place? We came from New Orleans and the food and drink were superb. The vibes and atmosphere . Beautiful people that were happy to serve food they take pride in. We got a cocktail and mimosas with fresh oj. We shared plates and got the Pain Perdu. Which was unique and delicious. We also got the Beirut flash back which was the best mideastern dip plate I’ve had in awhile. We also got the chiliques which was better than my dad’s! So much fresh delicious salsas and bright and satisfying. Will come here again!
