Reviews
This review is based on a visit from a month ago on our trip from Texas to hot springs. The restaurant was recommend by multiple people when we asked what the best restaurant to eat at today. 7 out of 10 people told us to come here.
We were immediately greeted and sat even with a very busy time. Lunch time.e and my wife had been 2 days I to our long road trip. So finally eating at a restaurant was a nice luxury (we overland and live from our vehicle on long trips).
We started with an order of drinks just simple sodas. Our servere was very quick. We ordered an apatizer of chips and queso. Which was delightful . Next we ordered our food. Within 20 minutes our food hut the table. The atmosphere mean while was really good. Music playing , alot fo people enjoying the coolish weather out with friends and family.
During this while time our server was very attentive. He also was peaked at intrest that we spoke Spanish fluently. I guess its not comon out in the middle of arkansas .
We started to eat . The food was delicious, the portion large enough to eat for 2 just off 1 plate. By the end we had left overs for the road.
The price was very affordable too! At least in our option!
Next time we come back to arkansas, we will be stopping here . That’s a guarantee
Because of the service we received from Carlos, I won’t be coming back. The restaurant seriously needs to address customer service training, as employees like him are costing them business. It also makes sense now why the restaurant has been empty every time we’ve visited. The last two times, several staff members were gathered at the front chatting instead of paying attention to guests.
Between all of us, we ordered a ton of items—almost everything on the menu! The chips and queso were absolutely on point—crispy, warm chips with rich, creamy queso that we couldn’t stop dipping. Our vegetarian friends got the cactus tacos (I think that’s what it was)—super unique and surprisingly tasty!
We also tried some shrimp and chicken dishes, and everything was well-seasoned and cooked to perfection. One thing that really stood out was the cilantro rice—so flavorful that we ended up ordering an extra side of it!
The place was packed when we arrived, and in all the rush, my order was mistakenly missed. But the staff handled it really well—after speaking with the manager, they quickly fixed the issue and brought out my meal without much delay. Big points for the service recovery!
Overall, it was a great experience and I’d definitely recommend this spot to anyone visiting the area.
Everything we tried was nothing short of delicious. The carne asada was seasoned to perfection, offering a juicy and savory bite that paired wonderfully with the freshly made sides. The birria tacos were a standout favorite, filled with tender and flavorful meat that practically melted in your mouth.
However, the highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the smoky mezcal margarita. Its unique, rich flavors stood out as the best I’ve ever had, adding a special touch to our meal that elevated the entire experience.
With its combination of exceptional food and drink, welcoming service, and a lively atmosphere, Diablos Tacos & Mezcal is a must-visit for anyone in the Hot Springs area. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, make sure to indulge in what they have to offer. You won’t be disappointed!
