Mexican plates served with cocktails in a unique, setting with an urban vibe & outdoor seating.

The atmosphere is very nice but the food dis not live up to my expectations. My main disappointment was having my chili relleno taste like “freezer burn”. The chicken enchiladas were dry and over cooked. You do get a lot of food for the price!

La Huasteca Mexican Restaurant delivers authentic Mexican flavors with outstanding quality and warmth. The food is fresh, well-seasoned, and clearly made with care, and our server Kyle was very helpful and attentive, making the experience even better. An easy recommendation for genuinely great Mexican cuisine.

I was craving some Mexican food so I thought
I’d try this place out. I didn’t expect much from a Mexican restaurant inside the Source Mall (mainly Korean establishments), but I was pleasantly surprised and very impressed! The Molcajete Azteca was delicious with a variety of meats and veggies. The manager, Bernard, also came by to check on how the food was, which I really appreciated. Not many restaurants do that these days. Apparently the complimentary chips and salsa are made in-house. They were light, thin, and crispy–just the way I like them. The waitress/bartender, Lucero, was also very friendly and fixed me up a mean Michelada. I’ll definitely be returning for food and drinks. 10/10

Prices: 3*
Enjoyed dinner with the fam. I ordered the spicy seafood 4* (half an avocado, shrimp, scallops, and octopus 8! A slightly spicy oil based sauce with sautéed onions). I also had the ceviche tostada 5*).
My partner ordered the mixed fajitas (shrimp, chicken, and steak) which comes with rice and beans and pico de gallo (4*).
Another family member ordered two carne asada tacos (4*). My step father in law ordered the queso fundido with chorizo (4*). They brought a small amount of chips and red (4*) and green (5*) salsas. Happy hour lime margaritas (3*).
The food was good, as was the service, although it did need salt. The portions were large so it helped to offset the elevated prices. I would return.

I went to this restaurant, and ordered the enchiladas verdes. I have to say this specific dish was unflavored no seasoning at all. My sister, mom, and me tried this plate and we all thought it was not worth the price. Don’t try it!!! Service was ok, not gonna complain, but the food was no good. The salsa for the chips had no flavor, very watery, but we still ate them. Also, the carne from the green enchiladas was dry, tasted like it was reused and refried like 20 times. Overall, my experience in this restaurant was disappointing and will not come again. I will confess I am Mexican and love Mexican food, but this food in particular was not like my moms food.
*suggestion: try the Korean restaurant next door, the food is amazing and service is good.

nested among a dozen or so aisan fusion restaurants, sits this slightly faded gem of Latin culinary background. I would say it’s a great first date location, also a family get together location, plus a singles bar . nothing too eye-catching , the meals were favorable, delicious and plenty. the chips and salsa stand out for being not too salty, but also, with taste. the salsas… a bit watery, but we all have our preference. the decor was mexican themed, with a few items representing latina as a whole. they also served my beer to the brim and I am talking about the brim! generally speaking, not a bad hole in the wall location.
the tacos were on point and the did have a hankering in trying the mole nowls… but like any first date, you win some and you lose some… i had to cut the union short…
luckily the bill was affordable. I’ll have to be give this place a 3.75 to 3.95
parking was literally on the other side of the location, tricky in finding the local. one this going for it, among 20 asisan restaurants, it was the only latino themed locale

A little difficult to find (it’s on the rooftop!) but once you’re there it’s a fun time! Very expansive menu that has something for everyone. The cocktails were great and boozy. All the food tasted delicious and the staff were very friendly.

Craving authentic Mexican cuisine, we decided to visit La Huasteca at The Source in Buena Park. Looking for something beyond the usual fare, we noticed a nearby table being served a dish that immediately caught our attention—Molcajete Azteca. Presented in a heated stone bowl, this dish was a beautiful medley of seafood delights, including shrimp, octopus, fish fillets, and panela cheese, all simmered in their signature savory sauce. Though the flavor leaned a bit spicy for our personal taste, it was undeniably delicious and paired perfectly with the accompanying rice, beans, and warm corn tortillas.
We chose to sit on the outdoor patio since the interior dining area was bustling and rather noisy. Unfortunately, the cleanliness of our table left something to be desired; even after being wiped down, it still felt a bit dirty of dried bird feces. When we politely requested a more thorough cleaning, the waitress responded with a slight attitude, which detracted from an otherwise pleasant dining experience. That said, the service from our main waiter was attentive and courteous, balancing out the earlier interaction. Overall, despite this minor hiccup, the standout dish and enjoyable atmosphere made for a satisfying meal. We’d be open to returning, especially to try other unique offerings from their menu.

Amazing & authentic food. Every dish we ordered was packed with flavors. Not your average food joint. Elevated, sophisticated, yet homely. Highly recommend the Papatas Bravas! Their salsa was also very delicious. Our server was very attentive, knowledgeable, and added to the overall positive experience. Will definitely be coming back.

First time here. First off a unique restaurant considering it’s at the source which seems to be mostly Asian themed. It was a pleasant surprise/experience, located on the top floor. The floor plan was thoughtfully designed. It wasn’t cramped or forced together while still maximizing sitting. The ambience was inviting and friendly with staff reflecting equally. Chips were crisp and lightly salted and salsa was fresh, flavorful, with just the right amount of heat. Guacamole was fresh chunky and expertly made( although in my personal opinion, needed a little salt) We also ordered a carnitas burrito and shrimp burrito, both wet- the carnitas had great flavor with the combination of beans and rice making for a excellent meal, getting it wet was just the thing needed to give it even more flavor. The shrimp burrito was excellent but the first order came with a bit of meat inside which rendered it inedible for my girl, (she doesn’t eat meat) but upon discovery of this mistake the staff took it back and made her a new meat free burrito, and it didn’t even take as long as the first round of food. My girl was not even offended after the mistake and once done responded with, we’ll be back. So overall a great experience and delicious meals. Thanks
