Stepping into Bites in the Boro was a truly pleasant surprise, and it quickly became clear why it’s considered one of the nicest diner-like restaurants in town. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere struck me – it has this wonderful small-town diner feel, almost like a cozy European lodge, with a cool college/artsy decor that I absolutely loved as an artist.
The food selection, while focused on burgers, salads, sandwiches, and tacos/quesadillas, offers enough variety to satisfy any craving. Everything I’ve tried so far has been genuinely good. However, the absolute standout for me was their Fish ‘n Chips. It was perfectly cooked and incredibly flavorful. I usually pair it with their well-seasoned fries, but their homemade potato chips are also a fantastic alternative. Beyond the main dishes, they boast a fairly large drink selection, with a particularly nice array of beers to choose from.
The service at Bites in the Boro is consistently top-notch. The servers are incredibly nice and friendly, frequently checking in to ensure everything is perfect without being intrusive. This attentive service, combined with the delicious food and unique atmosphere, makes for a truly enjoyable dining experience. Considering the quality and the overall experience, Bites in the Boro offers incredible value for the price, easily making it one of the best casual dining spots in the area. I’ll definitely be back to explore more of their menu!

I e blender had a bad experience here! Child friendly with a free take home book section in the waiting area which is awesome for my 4 year old. If you like mozzarella sticks they have by far the best I’ve ever had with this slightly spicy marinara sauce. BBQ Nachas hit the spot for me and my husband loves the burgers that are smash style. Prices are great for a family of 4.

Excellent wait staff, super comfortable atmosphere, and pretty quick service! The restrooms are always clean. My children love the book area at the front of the restaurant! The prices are fantastic too- we can dine here with Excellent service for less than we pay at fast food places!

Mid afternoon 3pm on Friday was perfect timing for a quiet lunch! Sean was the right amount of helpful, present, and attentive. Chips & queso were basic, but the onion rings were phenomenal! Really liked the bourbon glazed grilled chicken sandwich with pepper jack cheese.

We are visiting from out of town (having moved from Statesboro). The bookshelf at the front and selection of books was such a nice touch for our kiddo! The restaurant is spacious and decorated nicely with such a fun vibe. Our server, Chloe, was the sweetest and took time to interact with our 9 month old! Our food was delicious, as always, and our son got to try Bites fries for his first time having French fries! We will definitely visit again.

Vito is one of the best waiters I’ve ever had. He was one of the most personable, attentive, kind and genuine servers I have come across. I don’t typically leave reviews, but between the chicken quesadilla and him, this felt more than deserved! Would 10/10 recommend this establishment and the servers they have to offer!

We have been going to Bites since the first opened in their smaller location near the hospital. From the beginning the fresh cut fries were what set them apart in Statesboro. We came tonight expecting the same great food and service they are known for. Katie was our waitress and she was wonderful. The fried pickles and cheese sticks were delicious. Our burgers were hot and fresh. My wife’s tequila chicken quesadilla was amazing. However the fries were awful. It seemed as if they were cooked earlier and then refried to reheat them. None of us could eat them. The last two times we have been there have been the same result. We never had this issue when they were in the smaller location and all orders were cooked instantly. I suppose sometimes bigger isn’t always better. It’s sad because at one time they had the best fries in South Georgia. Yet it’s still a great place to eat. I would recommend substituting chips and salsa for French fries.

One of the nicest diner-like restaurants in town. Food selection really comes down to burgers, salads, sandwiches or tacos/quesadillas, but there are other played dishes as well; so far everything Ive tried here was really good.
Best meal they have in my opinion is their Fish ‘n Chips (usually have it with fries but their homemade potato chips is also good).
Their drink selection is also fairly big, they have a nice selection of beers specifically.
The service is also great, the servers are nice and friendly and they come check up on you often.
The atmosphere is, again one of the best within town, it has that small time diner vibes, almost European lodge sort of feelings.
Overall one of the best lower end (price wise, I mean) restaurants in town, comparable to Locos and and Wild Wing Caffe.

Delicious! My son keeps raving about how much he loves this place, and how he comes here at least twice a week. We finally gave it a try … and we love it! The chicken tenders were fantastic….the seasoning is PERFECTION! We got a double order of fries, because we had already heard how amazing they were! My husband ordered the Classic Burger, which he said was the best he had ever eaten!

Service was great. Atmosphere will pick up when college comes. But $15+ for this plate is a little much.
Paid for bacon and got one. Chicken tenders were average little small but that’s fine but the fries were really good. I just thought the sandwich was going to be bigger meat wise.
