Whether you’ve just spent the day swimming at Heise Hot Springs or are simply craving great food, friendly service, and gorgeous outdoor views, this spot is a must-stop.
During my visit to Idaho, my large extended family and I dined here multiple times. Each visit, the restaurant was busy, yet the staff never fell short on timely attentiveness and warm customer service. We ordered a variety of pizzas, salads, pastas, and kids’ meals. One standout was the supreme pizza, dish that can often end up soggy in the middle at other places due to its many toppings. Not here! The crust was perfectly cooked all the way through, even at the center.
I personally enjoyed the house salad as a starter. The portion is generous, large enough to share if you plan on ordering more dishes.
A couple of practical notes: the stairs at both the front and back of the restaurant are steep and made of ridged metal, likely to prevent slipping during snowy Idaho winters. The stairs leading down to the arcade (which is wonderfully nostalgic and fun) are also steep, so take care.
With Heise Hot Springs right in the same parking lot, keep in mind that proper clothing is required while dining. The restrooms were spotless, and the overall restaurant cleanliness was excellent. They also offer hard liquor and a great selection of beers on tap.
Don’t miss this gem, it’s the perfect blend of small-town charm, delicious food, and beautiful surroundings.
The dining room is a good size with a huge round floating fireplace in the center of the room. There is booth seating on both windowed walls and tables and chairs in the center.
Ru and a new shadowing server, Haley, came to the table and took our order and gave great recommendations. It was a quiet afternoon just us a couple other families.
We started with the Greek salad and jalapeño poppers sticks (which was like flatbread just word to the wise and they were delicious!). We got the Heise Deluxe pizza which had Canadian bacon olives pepperoni sausage bell pepper mushrooms and onions on it was so friggin’ tasty! We enjoyed everything and got full quickly so we have pizza for dinner!
If you make your way out to east Idaho definitely go out for the views and hikes and stay for pizza.
Thank you, Heise Pizza!
Today the waitress says it’s $2 more. Very deceiving not to put this on the menu and make up an added on price.
I’m not sure if it’s the pizza I ordered, but it wasn’t that special. I wanted to try a pizza, so I ordered the personal 6” cheese pizza with a side salad. The pizza to me was more like cheese bread. There was hardly any sauce on the pizza. I’m a big sauce guy so I was a little disappointed to take a bite and have hardly any sauce.
The Salad was good. My only complaint is there was a lot of olives on it.
Overall, it was just ok. But like I said, maybe it was because I ordered the personal size, but it just tasted like cheesy bread.
Edit
Came back after 4 years and it is still amazing. The food is basically addictive and the best pizza around. Great service, great atmosphere, nothing has changed in the best way. After a hot soak it is everything. Worth the drive every time.
