Neighborhood Gem In Old Town Key West!
Located on the corner of Southard St & Frances St, Café Solé captures the hearts and palates of locals and visitors lucky enough to discover this culinary gem off the beaten path. Chef John Correa, together with his wife Judy, combine his French mastery of sauces with fresh, locally caught seafood to create a menu unlike any on the island, where every dish is bursting with indescribable flavors.
Cozy, romantic spot serving French-Caribbean fare, signature hog snapper & a broad wine list.

When we first drove up, we saw people sitting outside enjoying their meal. When we walked in, it was a traffic jam with people and servers, trying to get by and stay out of the way of each other. They had plenty of pillows with blankets for the cool weather. However, our table felt like an undulating putting green. There was no flat spot to put your drink.Everything was at a slant. My chair was wedged up against a pole. We ordered the burrata and lobster bisque as starters (half a cup of soup, see picture, not worth the money), and the bisque was served at best, cool, it was sent back for some heat. This is a beer in wine place only. They had a good selection. For dinner we had the hogfish snapper, it was great as long as you like breadcrumbs on your fish. The fixings with it were very bland. The caesar salad was nothing special. I recommend you trying this place. Maybe your experience will be different.

Haven’t been to a well rounded, quality restaurant like this in a while. So happy with everything, Max our waiter was lovely and knew what would keep us happy. Oddly the bread they start with is memorable because of an aromatic humans that textures more like a butter accent and was so lovely he gave us more and I used it for the stone crab. The crab was expectantly fresh (which is rare even on the water with Sysco in the industry) so that was well worth the price. Followed by a beautifully presented grouper with possible baked veggies and a potato dish that Max could describe better than I ever could and split it in 2 plates for us without effort in the silent request. Truly a review I was excited to give which I know people have likely forgotten service thrives off of, so I wanted to highlight them. I’m not sure why they aren’t 5 star, they truly deserve nothing less.
We have already told our families to come here on their stays and am excited to come back!

Perfect date night spot, romantic, quiet, small and cozy. Food was excellent the duck and hogfish are a must. Save room for dessert as the selection is yummy. Off the usual DUVAL st. It’s worth the extra walk or uber.

We absolutely loved this restaurant. The atmosphere was wonderful. There was a rose on each table. Alan, our server was very knowledgeable and had a great personality. The hogfish was divine, I would definitely order that again. Other people at our table had the steak which they said was wonderful. Another person had the grouper which was also fantastic. The Keylime pie was delicious with the marshmallow topping. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Very pleased with my recent dining experience here. Very romantic atmosphere with a rose on the table, pillows on booths and lower lighting.
The lobster bisque was the best I’ve ever had. I used the complimentary bread they gave to dip in my soup. We also ordered the artichoke aphrodisiac appetizer and it was a 9.5/10, it was a whole artichoke and seasoned wonderfully.
We ordered the jumbo diver scallops and duck ‘a l’orange entrees. The scallops were cooked perfectly, tender and buttery. The duck was crispy, moist, and a half duck portion. The only side I was not too fond of were the Lima beans, but that’s just my preference.
We wanted the crème brûlée dessert, but the waitress, I forget her name but she told us she was from Poland, recommended we try the Key Lime Pie or chocolate pecan pie instead. We ordered the sampler which gave us a mini portion of the crème brûlée, key lime pie and pecan pie. The creme brulee was very thick and one of my least favorites I’ve ever had. The key lime and pecan made up for it though. I would go back just to order those desserts, they were superb. The pecan pie came with a side of ice cream (a la mode) and it was super tasty.
They have a huge wine selection and we chose a red blend bottle to share. It was a hot day when we went and we were sat outside, the humidity played a factor a bit, so next time I may request a table inside.
I am a local and can’t wait to go back here again to try other dishes. I want to try a pasta dish and also their famous hogfish snapper sole that our friends recommended.

We took an uber that dropped us off on the corner. Our reservation through OpenTable was perfect, and they gave us a corner seat with a window view.
There are no liquor choices currently, only beer and wine. The restaurant was very loud and very crowded, there was a seat that was directly behind mine which didn’t give me a lot of room to move.
Our table had amazing lobster bisque soup and portobello soup, along with salmon Oscar and Hogfish. We had two cans of coke.
Everything tasted superb.
We ordered the trio dessert, and it was fabulous! It consisted of small slivers of pecan pie, key lime pie, a small crème Brûlée and a vanilla ice cream scoop (I think for the pecan pie).
Wonderful food!

My daughter’s hogfish was gone in 30 seconds. The Osso Buco special was very decadent. We will be coming back on our next vacation.

My totally smoking hot and real girlfriend treated me to a nice dinner and I am very glad she did. The service here is very good and helpful. I’d highly recommend the sole and the portobello soup. Both were totally top notch. The prices are a little high but it comes through in the food and service. Lots here to praise. I’d recommend coming and checking them out.

Cafe Sole came as a recommendation by friends. It’s a quaint neighborhood spot which made for a lovely evening off the beaten path of Duval St. We were on time to our reservation, however, it took a little bit to get seated. Once seated, it took a while to get water and to meet our waitress for the evening. It was clearly busy within the restaurant, which we are understanding of but when it took an hour and twenty minutes for our food to come, we were all growing weary. Fortunately the food was delicious and the staff were pleasant. We all agreed it would’ve been a home run had the wait times not been so long. The key lime pie was out of this world, I will be looking to replicate it somehow – or simply another visit will do.
