Pita Cafe used to be my favorite Mediterranean spot in town, but it’s now my least favorite and I won’t be returning. My last three orders have been disgusting.
I usually order a shish tawook sandwich or a chicken shawarma sandwich with extra garlic (sometimes on the sandwich, sometimes on the side). I always request the chicken to be hot, which it should be if it’s truly made fresh, but the last three times my chicken has been cold.
This most recent order was especially disappointing. There were only three strips of chicken in the sandwich, and the rest was overly loaded with lettuce to fill the space.
The last time I visited, they also messed up my order. The chicken was freezing, and when I asked for a new sandwich, they simply warmed up the same sandwich and tried to give it back to me. Thankfully I checked in my car, went right back in, and got a refund.
It’s really sad to see how much they’ve declined. They’ve lost a customer of 15+ years. Wishing you all the best.

I go to this restaurant often. I absolutely live the food and the garlic here. I used to think that Lashish was the best but after getting sick eating from them 3 times, I started going here to Pita Cafe. They have the best garlic ever. The salads are awesome and the salmon Galaba are super delicious. I live near Grosse Pointe and I bypass all other restaurants just to go to this one. I love it for the cleanliness also and most of the staff is super nice. I love how great the elders owners and younger staff are.

Ordered fried shrimp rice meal. The Lentil soup was watered down not as good as in the past.
I used to visit there for dine in on a regular basin however since covid my visits are infrequent.
Fast carry out service. Resturant was emptied of dine in patrons. I was curious why. It used to be busy with wait line.
The quality of my food was ok except the shrimps were very greasy.
The garlic was still very good.

I visit this place often and was so disappointed how my issue was handled. I called placed an order for Greek grilled chicken salad and lamb and chicken combo. Got home and realized they didn’t add chicken to my salad. I called them to tell them they said call back in ten minutes while they look for my slip. I called back and someone got on the phone asked if I could come back I said no I was to far away he proceeded to tell me to take a picture of the salad and when I come back maybe they will

I’m highly disappointed! I have been going to Pita Cafe for about 15 years and lately, within the last couple of years they have truly fell off! I have tried to give them chances as we are all human and sometimes we make errors but this was truly unacceptable!! I ordered a chicken kafta sandwich on WHEAT LOW CARB PITA (I order this frequently by the way). This time when I called to place my order I let the person taking my order know that the last few times I’ve ordered this sandwich on wheat low carb pita they have messed up the order. HE ASSURED ME THIS TIME THEY WOULD MAKE SURE TO GET MY ORDER RIGHT! I arrive at the restaurant to pick up my food and low and behold when I checked the food.. it wasn’t on a wheat low carb pita!! I told the gentlemen (older guy) at the register that my order was wrong and he proceeds to start speaking in his NATIVE language! How RUDE!! I knew he said some not so pleasant things about me which was interesting as I wasn’t rude when I said my order was incorrect!! I waited for about 5 min LITERALLY and a gentlemen comes out with the same SANDWICH THEY GAVE ME PRIOR TO ME COMPLAINING ABOUT MY ORDER!!! IT TAKES LONGER THAN FIVE MINUTES!! THEY DIDN’T REMAKE THE SANDWICH ON WHEAT LOW CARB PITA!! I will NEVER PATRON THIS RESTAURANT AGAIN!!

Long time place that we’ve never visited until recently. Went there with a group of six and tried a variety of dishes. They were mostly excellent and very flavorful. Service was excellent and fast and the waitress anticipated our every need.
Food bill was very inexpensive. We spent less than $25 per person, but left stuffed and with enough leftovers for another couple of meals.

I did not want to forget to add my review I was so impressed! One of the best chicken wraps I have had in a long time since Shawarama house in Oxford changed hands.. made with tabouli, garlic and the chicken was perfect!!! Wrap was a good size! I was satisfied and had some for later too 🙂 Yummy
