I recently tried La Diabla Pozole y Mezcal on Wednesday, and if you’re looking for a rare Denver spot with great food, amazing specials, and a chill vibe, this is it!
You know you’re in the right spot when you can see one of the chef’s working the trompo right outside! I ordered the al pastor and asada tacos, along with huge bowls of pozole Blanco and pozole negro- WOW!! I was a little nervous about the spice, but the flavors were so well balanced. We also had a special treat with the fish tacos, and I encouraged someone in our group (who normally doesn’t eat fish) to try them. Safe to say- I converted them! They’re already asking when the fish tacos will be back.
Truly authentic and it’s easy to see why the Michelin Guide has listed this spot.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! See ya on Wednesdays!!
Oh- and the pulque? Chef’s kiss!

Had such a great experience at La Diabla! My server Keston was amazing — super attentive and knowledgeable of the restaurant and menu. The food was as amazing as I had heard it would be. Their Michelin guide sandwich was perfection. Keston told me they make their own bread, and you could tell. It was crusty, soft and a little chewy, and they dip it in a guajillo chili oil which adds so much flavor, but doesn’t make the bread soggy at all. The meat was perfectly cooked — so moist and flavorful, and the rest of the sandwich fillings were so balanced and fresh. My margarita was also perfectly balanced — not too sweet with perfect acidity. I can’t wait to go back and try more!

A.freaking.mazing pozole.
Highly recommend everything we tried!!
We tried the verde (green poblano, with chicken, least spicy broth), rojo (red, with pork, like traditional , medium spicy) and negra (more spicy with roasted chile flavor).
All pozole includes hominy style corn and cabbage.
Soups come with lime, red chile sauce and crispy corn tortillas.
Water is provided to all tables.
Bottled sodas are available alongside full bar service.
Dont forget to save room for the chocolate or orange flan dessert.

This is the happiest place on earth, I think of their fish tacos daily. Be prepared for 1+ hour wait time on Wednesdays. Their fresh fish tacos are only available after 5-6pm on Wednesdays. Al pastor is another great option! 10/10, I recommend this place to everyone.

We loved this place! Had heard about it quite a few times and figured the first snowy day this season was the perfect time to finally try it out. I got the chicken pozole which was amazing—lots of tender chicken and seasoned perfectly. Huge so either share or be prepared to take leftovers home! My fiancé got the al pastor tacos, carne asada tacos, and the pulled pork tacos and those were all delicious as well. So glad we finally got to visit and will be back!

I grew up in Mexico City, this place is exceptionally authentic and probably even better than most Mexico City tacos. In Denver right ? Who would have thought… Every time I come to Denver this is my first and last spot and I always take my friends to put them on. 10/10 this deserves atleast Michelin recognition ! I recommend the pulque (agave like beer) , grass hopper taco, pastor costra, and especially the tuétano. Soups are fire too

No one offers Friday happy hours into the night, right? Wrong. This place does. ALL day. So, you would probably say then they don’t do it on the weekend. Wrong again. This place does. I admit that the reason we went here was because we were going to an event close by, and wanted a place to grab a bite and drink before. We won’t need a reason next time, especially since I tell you what we DIDN’T get. But, back to what we did get. We got happy hour margaritas ($7), and you couldn’t tell by the taste that they were on special. Great drinks. Wife had the pozole. She loved it. I had the incredibly priced happy hour pollo and carnitas tacos ($5), and they also didn’t taste like happy hour tacos. Great food. I also am a hot sauce fiend, and their house made hot sauce was FANTASTIC. So glad I make a habit of asking for this. Whatever you order there, get some of this magic. The perfect combo of heat AND flavor (I find you usually get one or the other). Atmosphere was energetic and fun, and our service was stellar. Although they operate as a team, Nick took care of us the most, and he was awesome. He was personable in nature, helpful on the drinks and food, and efficient from start to finish. He definitely elevated our experience. Now, to what we DIDN’T get. We noticed everyone around us ordering bone marrow. Like…on all sides. We had already got out food, but inquired with a neighbor, and Nick, and apparently it is the real deal. We made a note to self to NOT need an event to come back…if only to taste THAT thing that was so popular. Tiny sign out front (seriously, don’t walk by it!), LARGE taste inside. I highly recommend this place, and see you there…with a plate full of bone marrow in front of me next time.

This place is amazing. When you walk up and see Edgar out front carving the Al Pastor to order, you know it’s about to go down. The vibes inside are festive, fun and the staff is great and personal.
From the fresh guacamole, to the Flautas which were covered in sauce and still crispy, to the famous Pambazo de Carnitas sandwich, I recommend getting the Bone Marrow to go with…. Amazing!!!!! You have to try this spot. A+++

They don’t take reservations so get there early and put your name down then you can grab a drink at one of the many bars close by while you wait. They were abke to accommodate our 8 person group with only a short wait. Once you get in the service is quick!
I was with a vegetarian and she was delighted with all the veg options.
My favorite app was the esquites with the bone marrow!!!!! Sooooooo good. The salsa negra is also one of the best salsas I’ve ever had in my life.
We tried the red and the green pozole. The red was a bit too spicy for me but the green was perfectly mild and both were delicious.
We got a Pambazo sandwich “costra” which is covered and wrapped in delicious grilled cheese. It is MASSIVE and definitely large enough for 2-3 people to share.
My favorite meat was the cochinita pibil. Absolutely perfect.
I will be back and can’t wait to try the duck mole and the pork chop!
