Will give it another try at some point.
Excellent staff and always exceptional food and service.
The NY style thin crust “Signature Pizza” is my favorite pizza here, but everything I have tried is amazing!
I had the Zater today, which was excellent.
(Sonali, you should check this out for vegetarian options like the Zater.)
Re-recommended to people at the World Trade Center are having catered lunches that DoorDash could not provide and they said everyone was thrilled
The service is pretty slow. Not sure if it was because they were slammed with walk ins and take out orders or if it’s just the norm.
The atmosphere is a bit wonky because you’re sitting in front of the Fruit Bowl counter.
So we decided to take a visit this night.
If ur not paying attention, u could easily miss the place it’s like “sandwiched” between 2 businesses.
All I initially saw was the fruit bar to the left, but that’s my observation.
I realized I had to use the bathroom, but there was no toilet paper & the smell of BLEACH was soooo overwhelming. O.M.G.
The floor was wet & slippery it was like an accident waiting to happen
Took a few points off for the atmosphere for that.
Other than that, the cashier guy was nice.
I wasn’t sure what to get & the cashier wasn’t giving us any suggestions, so we just got what we normally got.
We normally get beef & mushrooms all over the pizza.
Bae gets pepperoni (which tastes like nothing but SALT to me) on his side.
I get grilled chicken on my side
But there were a LOT of pizza variations & it honestly was difficult to choose.
Bae wanted some lemon pepper wings, so we ordered that as well with a side of ranch (my personal favorite) & blue cheese for him.
When we finally got out order I was surprised at wat we actually got: we ordered a MEDIUM pizza, but it appeared quite SMALL
I mentioned that maybe we should have gotten 2
Once I tried the pizza, I realized it WAS as good as he said it was!
It was so savory & delicious!
The pizza was fantastic; the chicken breast was tender, flavorful & not overcooked & dry, nor was it raw & undercooked.
The pizza was well seasoned, but the crust was a little bland & that’s where the ranch dipping sauce came in
I wouldn’t mind trying their other varieties after trying the pizza-I loved it!
As for the wings, they looked a bit dry & they were also very tiny.
& surprise, they actually WERE dry & tiny, but they didn’t skimp out on seasonings.
It reminds me of Wing stop by how they “load up” the wings with seasonings.
I’m not complaining so much about the seasoning mind u.
I was disappointed at the SIZE of the wings & the fact that they were dry, dehydrated & kinda hard.
They weren’t moist or tender like Wing stop.
I gotta be honest I did comment to Bae that we should have got Wing stop instead of these because this was a waste of money.
The ranch dressing, on the other hand, was AMAZING.
I don’t know if it was in-house made, but it was savory, creamy, rich, but not overly salty.
Get the ranch!
I could dip anything in that sauce particularly in my case, the pizza CRUST
After eating the baby chicken wings, I had a good amount of ranch dressing left.
I thought it would have been a waste, but I realized I could dip the flavorless pizza crust ENDS n2 the ranch dressing & that was great thinking on my part
Please give it a try- u will love it!
I asked Bae what he thought & he said he loved everything, so that’s that on that
I took a couple of pictures so u could better visualize everything.
Overall, my experience at Zio Al’s pizza was great, but I don’t recommend the wings at all. Sorry
