Traveling through Colorado Springs and stopped here on a lark. So thankful that we did. Hubby is all about the steakhouse, I am not. Our host Harleigh was an absolute doll and very accommodating to our service dog and despite our not having reservations, and it was a Saturday night on a holiday weekend. Yes, we were those people today. All vacation, no plan lol. Our server, Brian, (definitely ask for him) made the exact right suggestions for both of us. Hubs had the ribeye steak with a loaded baked potato. I had the Korean jidori spiced baked chicken on a rice pilaf with bok choy. Had mine with a glass of Albariño. We were so fat and happy at the end of this meal. I hope we get to return someday.

$95 for a sirloin that was 100% NOT Japanese A5. The steak was tough & did not have any distinct marbling. We left pieces behind due to its unpleasant texture (rubberlike). Disappointed to see that on the menu after experiencing what I’m certain was not Japanese A5. I had an allergic reaction after notifying of my severe avocado allergy & my Caesar was served with a side of avocado. Highly likely that the kitchen swiped it from the plate & returned on the same platter, because I immediately developed a hot & swollen ring around my mouth after only 2 bites. I didn’t finished my salad. The skinny onions rings & mashed potatoes were great. Totally robbed of $165. We witnessed more than 3 people in street clothes, walk in & out of the kitchen, who were obviously not on duty. And observed a few employees who seemed inebriated. We came during their last hour of service, on Friday. I really would’ve appreciated if the kitchen would’ve told us that they were all out of A5, rather than charge us $95 for a sirloin, that was mid at best. The table napkin was cute & charming.

While I appreciate the work of Ben Butler, Restaurant Manager and John Michael Sanders, General Manager and their creation of the Famous and there seems to be room for improvement.

I sat alone at the bar and had a bowl of french onion soup and a water with a lemon

I wasn’t offered a refill on my water and it was empty for most of my meal – I was also interested in getting coffee and a dessert and it wasn’t offerred

I actually had to pull my card out to get attention.

So service has much room for improvement

The soup was extraordinarily delicious- the cheese on the outside was toasted and the broth was savory and not overpowering – the improvement here could be to see what the competition is doing – like the Broadmoor serves their French onion soup with a scissors ✂️ to cut the cheese – or Prime25 serves their French onion soup with a toasted baguette and beef tartare

The atmosphere- she needs an update or at least a good deep clean and polish

The musician was wonderful and the space is roomy enough to have a more powerful presence with more vocals and a band – definitely can be room for dancing

For being one of the FEW Colorado Springs steakhouses – it’s good and could be amazing!

Had an appetizer, dessert and AF cocktail at the bar on a Friday night. Bartender was attentive and service was quick. The alcohol-free Clean Heat cocktail was the best mocktail I’ve ever had. But, the complimentary bread was cold and the tuna tartare was disappointingly bland. The flourless chocolate torte (which was what I came for) was phenomenal. Enjoyed the live piano music. Didn’t enjoy how loud the front door slammed shut every time a patron came/went.

From celebrating our marriage to our anniversaryy wife and I will keep coming back for well the pork belly first, the service treats you royally and steaks are worth it. It’s an unforgettable experience that I would highly recommend for a fancy night out

Great steaks, perfectly cooked to temperature, but a little overly priced. If not for the prices, it would be 5 stars all around.
The Rosemary bread is incredible and the loaded baked potato is amazing….just know it could feed like 3 people!
This is a great place for a nice family meal, for special occasions or for a business lunch!

This may have been the best stream I’ve had in 20 years. I also liked that it is an old style restaurant. Great food and service even though it was early on new years eve. My only disappointment was that I mentioned that it was our anniversary online, upon check in and upon seating, but not one acknowledgement from any staff.

In town for much needed R&R an reserved dinner at a different spot each night and had an AMAZING dinner. My wife had a perfectly prepared steak and my chicken was the Hawaiian style ahi steak also done perfectly seared. We both split the Caesar salad which was plenty especially with the delicious rosemary bread (minor nitpick would have liked it warm but was delicious regardless), and perfectly cooked baked potatoes.

HIGHLY recommend this restaurant for a solid steakhouse with food served “Chicago style” (i.e., pick your main course and then family style sides).

All I say is wow. I wish I could remember my servers name because I would like to give her a shout-out. She was outstanding, kind, and helpful. The food was very good. Some of the best I have had. I felt the “add-on” lobster was a little pricey, but it and the main dish was very good. I will pay for good food and experiences. The atmosphere was top-notch. Leather seating, black table tops, 50’s crooner music playing in the background made the experience. I do wish that there was even the most modest of dress codes because there were those in blue jeans and t-shirts. This is not a casual dining experience. Prices were reasonable based on the dining experience. Will be back when I am in town again.

Stopped in on a Friday night without a reservation. Was able to grab a couple seats at the bar and had a great dinner. Steaks were tender and cooked perfectly. Added the scampi to one and the shrimp were wonderful. Brussel sprouts as a side were great too and one order was plenty for 2 people.

Non-alcoholic beer selection was only Heineken 0. Would love to see places like this add more options. Lots of great NA options out there now.

Service at the bar was very good. Only thing we didn’t love was how loud it is. They have a gentleman playing piano and singing. It’s nice, but loud and a tough place to have a conversation.
