Salvador has one of the finer restaurants where you can sit down to a “real deal” Mexican feast. My wife had their shrimp ceviche & I had a huge platter of carne asada with shrimp, frijoles, guacamole, pico de gallo, a roasted jalapeño & lettuce. Their horchata is very delicious, refreshing and a reminder of many years I spent living & working very near Mexicali, Mexico in California’s desert.
No corners were cut in the preparation nor presentation of their delectable meals. Parking is a little sparse but it all depends on the time of day you plan on visiting.
If you enjoy stuffing yourself with delicious & authentic Mexican fare then this is the place. Excelente servicio, comida y bebidas.

Great food and great service. We went as a group of 6 people. We were seated quickly. We were able to place our orders and it came out in good time. Food tasted hot and good. We were celebrating two birthdays and they brought in desserts and came out and sang. That was a pleasant surprise. Plenty of parking outside and getting in and out was easy as well

Our wedding catering was absolutely amazing! The food was delicious, beautifully presented, and everything was served perfectly on time. Our guests couldn’t stop talking about how good everything tasted. The team was professional, friendly, and went above and beyond to make our day special. Delicious Mexican food. Great happy hour menu. Grab a margarita pitcher. Table side guacamole is amazing. Enchiladas are outstanding. Staff are attentive and pleasant. Plenty of seating and parking. Love this place.

Immediately was seated and within 5 mins had our drink orders back and appetizer. Food came out very fast for a Friday night as well. Waitress (Haleigh) was very attentive in the best way. She rushed out to catch a plate out of the kitchen and switch it with another so both of our tables got the correct order. Food was amazing like always. Highly recommend Rio Chico and especially Haleigh!

I usually love this place, the staff is always friendly, the food is usually good, and it’s a decent price. Me and my family go there all the time and last night we went out to celebrate my sister’s performance and we all got home and had severe food poisoning. I don’t think I’ll be coming here again.

I was lucky to have Kara for the first time and she knew her liquor even though she was in college! She brightened up my mood, she took very good care of me and my needs while juggling a few other tables while being at the bar! That’s inexpensive to me due to I’m a bar owner and bar manager! I’ll definitely come in on Thursday & Friday since those are the days she works!! Come check out the best Mexican food in canebay, with southern hospitality with how they make sure to always accommodate!! Love the owners specially the wife Mrs Patricia, yes it’s a family owned business so let’s support local!!!

We had just gone through a situation where another Mexican restaurant made us wait for 25 minutes with only chips; we were upset but remembered the Mexican place that we used to go to after our kiddo’s soccer games. We drove for 20 minutes to Rio Chico.
We were given a table in less than a minute, and freshly made chips were given to us and drinks. Three minutes later, we ordered our food, and we were even given sauce options.
Not even more than ten minutes had passed, and we were given our order, which was five different food plates. The waiter was the whole time attentive, refilling our drinks and making sure that we had everything we needed or wanted.
Sadly, we won’t be able to go here anymore because we are moving to the West Coast this week, but I 100% recommend this place to everyone who is looking for authentic Mexican good.
