Dr. Ho’s has been owned and operated by Michael and Nancy McCarthy since 2007, and was established in 1998. We take great pride in handcrafting everything that goes into your food. At Dr. Ho’s, there is no short cut to good pizza. Our homemade dough is hand tossed and topped with the freshest ingredients around. Everything on our menu is made on premises from scratch by our dedicated kitchen staff. Our mission at Dr. Ho’s has always been to take pride in our craft and work hard to be constantly evolving. Originally a much loved 900 square foot take out shop, jam packed with locals and occasional live music in the corner, the restaurant was expanded to its current space in 2013 to accommodate a much larger kitchen and dining room. This spot has been on my list for a while now and circumstances finally worked out to give them a shot. The hype is real! Even after driving back to Lynchburg everything was delicious. Interesting flavor combinations for the pies, it was tough to choose from their vast selection. The egg rolls came in a crisping sleeve so reheating them worked out well. If you haven’t been to Dr. Ho’s yet, you are seriously missing out. I ordered the Jack London pizza, along with the egg rolls and the orange chicken, and everything was absolutely incredible. The Jack London pizza was loaded with flavor, perfectly cooked, and easily some of the best pizza around. The crust, the toppings, everything was just spot on. The egg rolls were crispy and delicious, and the orange chicken was amazing full of flavor and cooked perfectly. You can truly tell that Dr. Ho’s puts care and quality into every dish they make. This isn’t just pizza, it’s an experience, and it never disappoints. If you’re anywhere near the area, I highly recommend stopping by Dr. Ho’s. It’s hands down one of the best spots around, and once you try it, you’ll definitely be back for more.

After a long hike nearby we replenished our calories at this local spot. Dr. Ho’s has a casual atmosphere with so many specialty pizza options it was hard to decide what to try. The Humble Pie and the Don Juan hit the spot with plenty of toppings and a crust that was not too doughy and just right.

as there are so many wonderful items to choose from on the menu. Even though I was by myself, I ordered a whole pizza. I was thankful when I took it home and had it again that evening .

Yummy legit pizza! Creative topping combos and flavorful, airy n crispy dough. Hubs got half humble and half some other meat thing, and both were delicious. I got the margherita, very good! Next time I’d probably go lite on the cheese, but very tasty pie. We also grabbed salads to go another day, and wow. They do a mean salad, as well!

Seriously some of the best pizza I’ve ever had. The toppings were incredibly fresh, the dough was perfect, and the white sauce had so much flavor. I was visiting from out of town and didn’t expect much, but this place completely surprised me.
I also grabbed a bottle of wine at the suggestion of one of the women working at the bar, and it paired perfectly with the pizza. Great recommendation.
I honestly wish I could bring this place home with me. I would choose this pizza over just about anywhere else. Overall, just a really solid experience.

Excellent pizza and local beer. Staff is very friendly and willing to let us customize ( 1/2 and 1/2) so we can try different things. Wings were good as well. It is like NY style but not greasy. I’m picky with my pizza but this is perfect!
Definitely come back. Mind you, it is very busy but worth the wait. We were lucky, we got in right away.

OMG!!! This place is the spot to go to when you want a real good pie, pizza that is! Plus the salads and subs are also great! Brook our waitress was awesome! We seem to get her every time we visit and she is so sweet! The atmosphere is a funky vibe kind of like a bar setting but very much family friendly. We highly recommend this place! I almost forgot the homemade Ranch Dressing! You gotta try the Ranch Dressing!

I got there on a late Saturday afternoon after a basketball game at the local college, so it was very, very busy. So I sat at the bar.
The bartender was very attentive and friendly. I ordered my pie, meatballs, button mushrooms, & pepperoni. It arrived pretty quick and it was perfectly cooked with a very good, lightly salted chewy crust. The toppings were all delicious, as was the sauce. I can see why they get the good reviews. I left with half the pizza in a box, and I can tell you that I ate it cold for breakfast the next day and it was still a super good pizza.

We saw someone do a TikTok about this place and what caught my eye was first the location and the crust. I am a huge pizza snob and have yet to find a place in Virginia that comes close to pizza we have had in NYC. We drove over an hour to get here and so thrilled we did. The outside is quite unassuming but the inside has a very chill vibe. We were immediately seated by a very nice guy who took our drink order. We ordered a typical pepperoni pizza and an appetizer called “Fat and Sassy”. If you like crispy bread, garlic and cheese….this is your jam. We asked for the crust of the pizza to be a little more crisp and they did not disappoint. I now can say we found one of the best if not the best pizza in Virginia….yes that is right I said what I said. The crust is crisp but chewable, not doughy and holds the slice perfectly. Our waiter was super attentive even as the lunch crowd grew as we were leaving. You have got to try this place. What a gem.
